Hi, please see picture of my fender tag below. Does this make sense to anyone? My car has R/T stripe and 440 Magnum, and curious to learn if that's original or if it's a tribute/clone.

Appreciate your help here guys!

what the other guys say  :2thumbs: :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:

think the stripe code  V6X is miss stamp ,   should be  V8X , black bumble stripe  , as far as I know  , V6X was not a option on a 69 charger .... :popcrn:

have you looked for a broadcast sheet ?   :scratchchin:

:iagree:   V6_ was not a valid code on a '69 Charger (a few other '69 models, yes - but not for that year's Charger).

With it being a R/T, it should have either the tailstripe color or V88 coded.  It did not have a vinyl top, I'm guessing?

erlendch

It has the vinyl top, at least now.

See picture of car below.

I'm selling it. Hence why I'd try to find out all these things. I'll post more pictures in separate post tomorrow, in case anyone here is interested.

I'm not really up on 69 tags, but shouldn't one of the T3's be on the line above as well    :scratchchin:

If you decide to sell it make sure you put it in the "cars for sale" section. I'm sure someone here would like to buy a nice R/T. Good luck with the sale!  :2thumbs:

Interesting...
I'm not seeing the usual corner bend. And those are definitely incorrect screws.  :scratchchin:   :rotz:

Man.... that patina around the screws looks good (even around the tag), and the color match is almost dead on.

The edges are also crunchy/rusty.  :scope:

The dirt also looks damn good and matches the fender apron well.  EDIT: Now it seems somebody sure did a convincing job on the aging process....

4th vote here. Do you have any history on the car? If it was a little rusty and then restored, maybe the original tag was eaten up a bit and some of the codes were not legible? A rusty V8X could be misread as V6X. 69 Charger experts - could you upgrade to a 26" radiator just by itself? I have seen a 70 Charger that was done that way. Also, If it came with a factory vinyl top, the first T3 code would be missing, and the vinyl top code would appear above with the rest of the options.
Corrections welcome - I am here to learn. Scott.

Merely going from the side profile picture, and the mention of a/c from t-top.... the car does appear to have G11 tinted glass (not present on the tag).  Possibly the owner can tell us if the background is making the glass appear greener and darker.

Dino

It does not have a/c.  He has posted pics in the past that show this.

As a buyer I would also be a bit worried about the smooth valance corners.  Was this done for visual improvement that you know of?  It can be remedied without having to repaint it as long as nothing is being hidden.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

erlendch

No AC.

More pictures of car, including engine bay here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bg05070l6ydwam7/AABq0a3eiFN_gcALwZB7Q7Raa?dl=0. Although the pics are from before I removed the after market gauges and replaced then with refurbished ones (incl. clock/tack) and before the back end was repainted and re-chromed.

So seems like this car may or may not be an R/T. Not sure how much it matter for a car that is this much modified anyway. And it's (imo) all the right modifications, making it just a much better and more reliable drive.

It takes off like a rocket and also cruises nicely on the highway due to the Gear Vendor overdrive unit. Thanks to disc brakes all around it even stops if it has too. Newly rebuild engine, with electronic ignition and slightly more aggressive cam. It has a hidden sound system with iPhone connectivity. You can take it across the country tomorrow and not only have a problem free drive, but also a comfortable one.

Here are some of the upgrades:
Rebuilt of 440 Engine
Gear Vendors Overdrive
New Exhaust System
Discbrakes front & rear
New 15' stock looking Wheels & Tires to fit the bigger brakes
Electronic Ingnition System
Re-painted rear end + recromed Tail Light Molding
New Center Console and Door Panels
New Instrument Panels with Clock/Tack
Sonteguard Undercoating in front inner fenders
New Suspension / Shocks front & rear
All Ball Joints / Bushings / Tie Rods replaced
Door Weather Seals / Roof Rails Seals replaced

I am putting ads out on the internet this weekend. Any advice of where I should put the price. So I am not asking what you would pay for it, but what you think is the highest price I'll get out there in the current market. Grateful for any advice!

6bblgt

If the VIN on the dash is XS29L9B247324 & it's an original Chrysler produced tag & the body numbers match (core support & trunk lip "B9 247324")

the car was originally a 440 powered 1969 Charger R/T

& you need: air conditioning, a trailer towing package, or an axle package to get a US spec 440 automatic '69 Charger R/T with a 26" radiator.

Cncguy

The G33 code is remote mirror, am I wrong on this?

Ghoste

You are correct on that.

Yes, this could help clear up a lot.  Typically its tucked up under the rear bench seat cushion, under the carpet on the passenger side or behind (above?) the glove box liner.
