Hello and welcome aboard

1968 best model year of 2nd gen Chargers IMO.

I bought my carpet thru Trim Parts. It seems very nice, although I have not installed it yet.

Here's the link:

Good luck with your Charger :yesnod:

ACC brand.  I got mine from http://www.stockinteriors.com/

You can get it in the stock loop or modern cut pile which is what I did.  I also opted for the heavy backing and I'm glad I did as it makes the carpet real sturdy and is great insulation.

Very happy with the fit.  Install thread here: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,112405.0.html

If you are really wanting the best(imho) carpet available. Call ECS automotive concepts. That have the highest quality and its shipped in a  large box, flat, so it never gets rolled up making it fit great with ease.

Isn't that an ACC carpet as well?

I laid mine in the sun for a few hours although it probably didn't need it.  The heel pad was a bit wavy but it flattened out within a week of being in the car.   :2thumbs:

Last I got carpet from legendary. They sent me ACC. They don't make their own carpet that I'm aware of.

I'm not sure who actually makes it for ECS, but I'm told that it has to follow much tighter tolerance. Such as the heel pad. Some can be up to three inches off from where they belong. The ECS carpet has always had it in just the right spot when I've installed it.

I had always thought the Legendary one was an ACC product, IIRC they never hid that fact in the catalog either?

jaak

I have used Trim Parts carpet, and I have used ACC carpet... One fit/looked better than the other, but I am not sure which was which... I think the ACC was the better of the 2. I haven't bought ECS carpet yet, but hear nothing but great feedback about it.

Gotcha.  Quality control may be an issue then.  My heel pad turned out to be in the perfect spot so maybe I got lucky.

I checked their site and am wondering why it's + $230 for carpet.  It's less here for the same thing. http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=600&MakeId=7&ModelId=132

Just pick color and style and add mass backing if you want.  I did because I only have the original jute on my floors.  If you have a dynamat type thing you may be fine without the backing, although it makes the carpet real sturdy.

The stock material is plush cut.

Oops, my bad.  Yes you are correct, it was loop. I got plush cut for mine.  Just another case of thinking one thing and writing another...I've been doing that lately.  Dino is way tired and heading for a burn out...

I am planning on using dynamat before the carpet install. Does this carpet not come with any jute on it? I would like to use jute with it as well.

I'm pretty sure they all come with jute unless you specify that you want it left off.

Yes it does have the jute like stock, the mass backing is just an upgrade.
