68 Charger Name That Part

This came with a low mile unmolested 1968 Charger 440 HP that I picked up years ago. So long ago, that I don't even remember where (or if) it was attached.
I think someone once told me it was something to do with CA emissions. It has 68 turquoise paint on the bracket. Any guesses as to what it is?

I have one on my 68 Chrysler Imperial 440, near a much bigger black canaster, that's on the back of the intake. I have not seen them on
anything but a Chrysler myself.

Ah.... So it's an early version of the OSAC valve that appeared in the early 70's. No wonder I've didnt know what it was. This is the kind of thing I toss in the scrap pile when installing a high rise single plane

Under the cap is a spring diaphram that appears to be vacuum actuated (now that I know what it is).

$159 buy it now for NOS on eBay huh? I'd throw this away but its in good of shape and I figured some restoration buff is looking for one....

Depending on engine size/application the ports are different sizes & the brackets are different - these were used on everything from /6 to HEMI.

I remember having one of those on a 66 Charger that I used to own. Engine was a 361.
