Well, you can delete your Subject of a "72 Rallye".  Your car is just a Plain Jane 72. Sorry.

Can't wait to see pic's of the 69.

But it is kind of cool to hold the original title in my hand, will the dmv take it away when i transfer it to my name???

JB400

XS29= Charger R/T

M= 440 6 Pack  or Special order (most likely).  6 Packs weren't available in 69.  70's on up only.

9= 69

On the post you want to change, in the right hand corner, it says Quote or Modify.  Click Modify, then you can edit your posts.
To change the title, go to the very first post of the thread, and click Modify, then change the title of the thread.  The posts in the thread already will have the old title, but new posts will have the new title.

I don't have pictures of it, if you would Plz read the whole story, you would understand bro.

I read the entire story. Were you not allowed to take any pic's of the 69 ?

Okay so it's not a rallye, it's not white and it's not a big block.   :scratchchin:

You are right, there is some fair amount of rust on that car.  The trunk lid alone scares me about what might be inside there.
It will not take you long before you are behind on this one.

On the positive side, you are still ahead with the puchase of $400 of course.

If he's coming over after church, then tomorrow, I'd get a set of plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and change the oil and filter.  New belts wouldn't hurt either.  See if this helps it run any better.  Then you can start it up for him when he comes over.

Hi,

Yes, it's a real Charger! Like my 71 it's a Plain Jane car. I think its worth putting some effort into because all these cars are 40 + years old and there will nothing ever built like them again. I wouldn't get too caught up in that it is not a big block, upper trim level car. That 318 was Chrysler standard "grocery getter" engine and it will make a very nice high way cruiser. The 318 will respond very nicely to a little hotter cam, 4BBL and dual exhaust system.

All these reality TV shows on cars are fueling a trend to think they are all worth big bucks. While this 72 may never fit into this category it will make a great car to drive and enjoy. The only reason I can think of to own these cars is because you love what they are and represent. I don't see making or loosing money as the important thing.

Your 72 is a twin to my 71 in trim and color. So, look at my avatar picture and I've posted a picture of my interior which should match yours. Do a compression test on the engine and I would go over the brakes very carefully with new wheel cylinders, master cylinder hoses and calipers before driving the car. Stopping safely is ever so more important than going!

Eccentric, plz explain, im behind, I don't understand bro, don't get mad at me, is it not worth fixing?? Is it not a charger?? Is it a fake?? clones that I started hearing about?? Dang bro, you scaring me!

Sorry, wasn't trying to throw it under the bus on you.
Fake?  No, clearly it's a charger.

It's not a clone.  If you seen the term clone tossed around you would probably consider cloning this car into a Rallye so don't get that confused with what this car currently is, and that is a base charger.

I'm just giving you a heads up to be careful as to what you plan to do with this car in order to satisfy "...when you get it done, give me a ride and the rt will be yours to..."

What does this mean exactly.  You need to be sure the two of you are on the same page.  A base 318 auto charger simply isn't worth as much as, say a triple white big block Rally charger.  I.e. you will have less money to work with to stay ahead on this project.  That is all I'm saying.

Start with what everyone has advised, get it cleaned up and road worthy and go from there.

Not sure why no one else has said this yet...  But if you're going to get a free R/T outta the deal; stop fretting, and restore the darn thing!

Even if you spend over on this project, YOU'LL HAVE A #'S MATCHING R/T CAR! Still can't see how you'd possibly go wrong there.  You even said the boss likes the car, so fix it up for whatever it costs, and keep it as a nice mild 318 your wife can drive.  :2thumbs:

You'll basically be doing exactly what he did...  Base Charger for the wife, 2nd Gen for you.

Based on what I've read thus far, you're already deep enough in.  Stop second guessing yourself, and F***ing do it Marine!
