i see three of four different types incl. herringbone and a couple plaids incl. one in brown...

what you using..

Ghoste

For 66 and 67 they used a carpeted trunk mat.  My 68 and 69 B-body cars all had grey plaid.  What year are you talking about?  You have a couple of different generation cars there don't you?

The grey plaid style would be "correct for 68-69.  The tan style was also used but very rarely (I dont know if you can get the tan any more)
Im using the 70 herringbone style....just because...... ;)

i know what the plaid looks like,..
and I think i'm gonna go herring bone for both the '71 Plymouth Road Runner and for my '69 R/T SE. which was missing whatever was there, so,..
same for both i guess, The trunk mat went right in the trash from the runner, it was gray and i think a herringbone but it was so caked with road filth i couldn't tell...
thanks guys...

Thanks, does anyone carpet the trunk instead of using the mats?

B5 Charger

Mine had a tan plaid mat from the factory so I am going back with that.

The way Mopars leak water back there a carpet would act like a sponge! Could be good in a racing aspect by adding weight like a ballast......... :rotz:

Mine had grey plaid stock, it was still in the car when i got it, same thing with the 2nd 69 r/t i bought.  I haven't decided what I'll do with the trunk yet after i finish fixing it up this time.  Was considering doing custom speaker boxes and matching the interior vinyl/leather but still not sure.

Hey guys
reopening this thread because I haven't been able to find out what color/pattern of mat was original for my 1970. Is there any way to know?

Lord Warlock

Best way is to ask other 70 owners, preferably someone with an original mat in it.  Or take a look at garage pictures or show pictures, someone is bound to have a shot of the trunk open.
