Here's what he sez. LEON.

"Very interested in your charger.  Can you give me some details or photos of the damage to the car?  Would you be open to a partial trade plus cash offer.  I have a harley i would like to trade but i can pay cash if a trade is not an option.  Let's see if we can come to a deal."

So I send him pictures I minor dented fender & cracked grill. He tries to tell me the whole side is wasted & needs fixing. Door & 1/4 panel  & hood needs work he sez & there is nothing wrong with hood, door or 1/4 panel. Just trying to make it sound worse then it is for a reason to lowball.

hemi-hampton

Our next e-mail.

thats a lot of damage.  looks like hood, bumper quarter panel, driver door and who knows what else once you get into..give you $18,000 for your car as it sits.  let me know and we can talk the details out.

Hi, Not Interested in a trade. Here's some pics of damage. THANKS.

hemi-hampton

Our next e-mail. After the guy lowballs me $18,000 offer, less then 2/3rds of what I wanted. I tell him to go buy a rust bucket project off ebay for $18,000 & he blows a gasket. Where are you going buy a 100% rustfree unmolested original survivor car with original paint & original 24,000 miles that runs & drives great for $18k????

wow. i have seen a lot of trash and you obviously like to pile it up on your car.  you don't deserve that car.  learn to drive and not crash a great car.  learn some manners and stop acting like a piece of shit.  you put or best offer for your and get pissed when someone gives you an offer.  so go jump in a lake.

Clown then tells me I put best offer in my ad. I tell him I never put best offer in ad, go read again. If he don't have any money he should of never contacted me. Just a tirekicker wasting my time with verbal insults. Next e-mail below.

wahhhh...someone is butt hurt their car is a piece of shit and they caused it..you won't get 29 grand for it dude.  you are the idiot.  there are better cars out there  for the same money.  good luck.

Dorks like that are not worth the bandwidth even answering to ?
Blow him off.... life is too short.
You put the price you are comfortable with, now entertain communications with any "serious" inquiries relevant to it.
But obviously here....
that kind of drivel from anyone... obviously shows lack of patent negotiation ? Buh-Bye !

But THANKS for sharing.... pretty humorous :2thumbs:

I'm so tired of dealing with non serious assclowns I rarely answer any out of state calls or e-mails related to it unfortunately. :brickwall:

bill440rt

After his first dickhead reply I would have stopped entertaining him. No, not interested. Sorry. End of story.

Good luck selling the Charger, Leon. It's a nice car.

Yes Bill, Good advise. I should of never responded when he said he wanted to trade a Harley. LEON.

Yup, Morons come out of the woods to aggravate people when they can't steal a car. I sold the last car I bought on ebay and it went real smooth. I dealt with the Craigslist scammers first and got one or two tire kickers. I had it priced a little higher on there, though. You can always come down some, right? It seems to me no matter how you price something, people want to talk you down. Next I tried for b bodies only and listed it cheaper and some moron on the board, broke the posting rules and ridiculed me and the car in MY add. I think "Good luck with that one" was a sarcastic criticism, correct? LOL.The mods appropriately  deleted his comment. Well It made me so mad, I had the mods delete the whole thread after 10 days. I did not get any interest from that site as well. So, I went to ebay with a reasonable buy it now price. I had plenty of pictures and a very good description. It sold in less than 24 hrs and the deal went very smooth with a buyer form Ohio. I sold it for 10% less than I had it advertised on for b bodies only. If I would have remembered the morons screen name that made the comment, I would have sent him a link and a  :nana: but that would have started the same crap that you are dealing with! It was not a Charger or it would have brought about 5,000 more. I think you are close in price on your Charger, maybe a little high but that is not an 18,000 car for sure. I have a survivor just like yours that I had to rebuild the motor and paint the engine compartment because of a bad battery leak. I would not would not take less than 25 to 28 for it, if I was inclined to sell it right now.  Good luck. Don't let the morons make the rules for you. 68-70 Chargers are the top sellers right now.

Beav

The REAL problem is these morons are watchin' Gas Monkey! (insert any reality tv show)

That goober buys rust buckets, slaps a cam and wheels on it, clear coats the rust (& calls it petina) and sells it for 60k....

Yea RIIIIGHT!!!  :rotz:

It's on TV, it's GOTTA be true!

This clown then tells me he's going to buy a much nicer car from DUFFY'S for $38,000, $20k more then he offered me & sends me  link of this gem. Ends up it's a 500 not a R/T & has a Earl Scheib perfume on a pig resto, with body color painted hood latch, hood spring & hood release ect. Low Budget low quality car but it has nice shiny paint & thats all tht matters to most buyers. :scratchchin:

Just looked at your ad.

FK5, man that is a beaut.  It also appears that there is not serious rust issues/panel replacement needed.  Let's see awesome color combo, running driving car, no panel replacement(if full rest in future MASSIVE SAVINGS!), Bent bumper/valence/bumper(all repairable), broken grille(initial large expense), true RT car non AC.  Asking 29k with some wiggle room.  Shocked this car has not sold quickly.  Offer of 18k WTF!  :brickwall:

MxRacer855

Wow, what a POS that character is!
There's definitely all kinds in this world!

Good luck on the sell.

I got another nice grille & bumper that cost me $1,500 so nothing the buyer needs to worry about. Car does have A/C but not hooked up. No wiggle room. LEON.

A solid car for a good price.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Leon. Last old car I sold was my 73. I had my mind made up what I wanted for it, and like you I corresponded with several people through emails, and talk to some on the phone. Of course, everyone wants to low ball you and think they know it all, but hang in there when you least expect it the 'serious buyer' comes around. When I sold the 73 one day I get a call from a younger guy... didn't try to haggle on price, just told me if he could come it with the money he'd like to have it (Really he didn't ask a whole lot about the car). I was like yeah, whatever, thinking I will never hear from this guy again, well he calls me like 15 minutes later, "Hey I got the money, can I send you $500 through paypal to hold it until I can get there Friday" I said yes. He sent me 500 right then, showed up on Friday with the rest of the money, had me take him for a spin in it (said he hadn't drove a straight shift in a while, wanted me to drive), I drove it on the trailer for him, he paid me then left. One of the easiest transaction I ever had selling a car.

BTW, for a surviving burnt Orange 70 R/T, that seems like a fair price to me... if I could afford it I would love to have it, I have always wanted an unmolested car. If it were mine I would just fix what needed repairing and keep all the originality I could, I wouldn't do a full blown resto.

Good Luck,
Jason

Mr. Leon:

Yours is easily the best car of it's type for the money out there right now. Unmolested, original cars are as rare as rocking horse shit. The little damage and gauge work you have to repair is nothing and could be easily done by any competent person or facility. I'm shocked you haven't been over-run by the big flipper shops on both coasts. I wouldn't entertain any offers from anybody who wasn't up-front and ready to do business on your terms.  Bide your time, the right person just hasn't seen it yet.

F8-4life

I figure finding the right buyer in a sale is like finding the right girl, it takes awile and you deal with a lot of crap in between.

Mikesmoparperformance

So this is why there are no 69 Chargers on other Chargers on Ebay anymore? People are just jealous!

Damn Leon, I am thinking you were having fun with this jerk in the beginning and then it went into complete insult land. I'm also thinking that you will end up repairing the car and documenting everything touched with time and pictures right through the completed job. If this comes to light I would then send this jerk all the pics of before, during and after along with the new price that you know he cannot come close to anyway. Of course right after hitting the send button I would simply block his email address and enjoy your final chuckle with him..

As said earlier, life is just too short to worry about morons...  Now get to work on that rust bucket of a 318 wannabe R/T.  ;)

I also cannot figure out why it hasn't sold at full price yet. I know most peeps are tight in the wallet right now, but you own a more unobtainable car than most and I'd think people would be pushing the bid to get it!!

Smile brother. YOU still own one hell of a time machine!!!  :2thumbs:
