These are the Valve Covers that came on my 69 440HP motor when I bought it in the 80's. Can anyone tell something about them? Are they off an earlier year Big Block?

yes my first thought is that,
push on breather's like a poly engine had, so possibly earlier than you think, guys how interchangable were the early 361, first 383's ,

Charger-Bodie

67 was the last year for wedge engine bb rb engines to have both slide on style. 68-69 had one slide on and 70 had pop in on both sides.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Makes sense now that I think about it. I bought a 65 Coronet 500 that was original a 383 car. The car had this motor in it. Betcha the fella took the valve covers off that 383 and put on this motor.

I have a set exactly like yours. I know for a fact they came off a 65 Sports Fury with a 426 street wedge. I'm thinking that the 426 wedge's were the only factory stock chrome valve covers(for wedge motors).  I could be wrong.  I also know they came on a 64 Sports Fury with the 426 wedge.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna clean them up and put them back on. :2thumbs:
