Saw V for Vendetta last night, awesome movie!   Anyone else seen this?  What did you think?

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

I saw it last night, and I thought it sucked.

Just another Bush bashing movie, except not so direct about it.

It's on my list.

It's based on a graphic novel. My wife asked if it was based on a comic book and I had to correct her and say, no, a graphic novel.

She asked what the difference was. I said about $3.00.....     :icon_smile_big:

I doubt it was written to bash Bush, the graphic novel came out in 1990.

Well we all know the movies are a lot different than books... but I am sure you will see plenty of correlations, when you go and see it.

A Bush supporter who could see the similarities the movie was showing between the movie's gov./society and our own?  Interesting.

But ya, I can kind of see that this movie would prob. appeal more to the liberal type people, I was prob. a biased fan of this movie in this regard.   But that's what was one of the things I liked about this movie.  That and also that is was a revenge type story like "The Count of Monte Cristo."  Great plot.  Cool main character.

Haven't seen it yet.
I read a local review.  The guy gave its moviemakers credit for at least trying to do something relevant & polically-charged, but he said it came out clumsy & overhyped.

And shaving Natalie Portman's head?  WTF?!?
(What's next?  Writing an Oscar-winning role for Jessica Alba where she has to put on 50 pounds?)

No, that was Charlize Theron in Monster or Zellweger in Bridget Jones's Diary. Zellweger actually looked healthy with the extra weight. She looks anorexic now.

I thought "Sin City" was a great interpretation of a graphic novel. I kind of doubt V could do any better but I guess I'll find out... Someday.

Lightning

saw it last night, I thought it was great too.
