I need some advice about the reproduction M & H wiring harnesses from Year One.  I have a '69 Charger R/T 440 4bbL that I am re-wiring.  I've had the car for 10 years and have enjoyed driving it most of the time.  It's been running with its old original wiring which of course is in pretty bad shape and its a wonder that I didn't burn the car up more than a few times.  My question is this:  my car is a 1969 that was built on August 29, 1968 at Hamtramck.  The engine harness that Yearone and Classic Industries show on their sites for a '69 B-body 383/440 doesn't look at all like what I have. They show part # HU197B for '69 but it looks like its for the newer (70?) style voltage regulator.  My car has the old style FLD/POS regulator with the 2 flat contacts on either side.  Part # HU187X is the engine harness for '68 B-bodies 383/440 and it looks to be a match from their pictures.  I found a new M & H engine harness on Ebay last week that the guy advertised for '68/'69 383/440 B-bodies so I took a chance on it and bought it.  It arrived today and its spot on perfect for my car.  The problem I have now is that I want to order the dash harness for the car.  Do I order part # HU274B which is for '69 B-Bodies with oil gauge or do I order HU269B which is the dash harness for '68 cars?  I contacted M & H about maybe Chrysler using leftover '68 parts on a early build '69 car like mine (there are some other parts on the car that are from '68 models), but they just said, its a '69 order the harnesses for a '69.

I would not take notice of , the yearone  website , no offence  , think its put together by computer programmers etc who know nothing about the products they are listing  in the one line catalog  ,  so  difficult to understand & find stuff too imo ,  do your self a favour , order your self a printed catalog , if your ordering  lots of stuff ,

the picture in their web site for HU197B   1969 -B-Body -383 -440 , is a generic picture ,  it actually looks like   the one  that's been altered for electronic ignition ( HU197BM )

part number HU197B  engine harness  , is the one I ordered , & is correct  , for a  stock 69 charger

i ordered all harness from yearone for mine  , that were available at the time i done the resto

have a look at your wiring & match them to these diagrams  :yesnod:
