Glasspack mufflers are the worst mufflers you can pick performance wise. They increase back pressure. :Twocents:

Why?  Aren't they a straight-through design?

There are a lot of dynamics to it all other than just the sound.  If you talk to any of the FAST drivers, most of them are using Dynomax Pro Flo mufflers because they not only reduce the sounds to a low rumble, but they also scavenge better than an open exhaust and can generate additional flow through the system, which is a big deal when you are limited to factory manifolds.
Well stated!  I use the dynomax pro flo and have been extremely pleased!
Are there the same benefits using Dynomax Pro Flow mufflers with headers vs. factory manifolds?

Good question that I don't know the specific answer to. I doubt they would hurt too much as they tend to have a very high cfm capability.  Borla is another one that has some tremendous flow potential.  Not all muffler makers are really forthcoming with this info and searching the web produces a lot of conflicting info. Of course, the FAST guys are also porting the stock manifolds with extrude honing to clean up the flow as much as  possible. A well massaged set of FAST manifolds would probably outflow a cheap set up headers, if you come right down to it. Of course they may spend as much time and money getting them there as some of us do on are entire engine build.

Sounds awesome! When I first saw your car in the corner, this was first thing that came to mind:

Ford Ecoboost V6 engines have fake V8 noises coming from the stereo!

Engine sounds of EcoBoost engines are being auto-tuned through the stereo speakers.

FoMoCo claims:

Turbocharged engines are inherently quieter than normally aspirated counterparts, because the compressor's turbine sits in the path of the exhaust and thus smooths out the outgoing sound. High performance turbo motors often sounds like jet engines, where all you hear is the sounds rushing air as it's sucked in and expelled.

Ford points out that there is nothing "fake" about the engine sound coming from the stereo. This sound is not synthesized by the computer. It is the sound wave from the engine that has been altered to amplify some frequencies and cancel others.

Why the hell are you worried about what it sounds like on the inside ? Its the outside sound that raises attention....What makes people say wow that sounds mean/nice. I don't get the inside thing. :shruggy:
