Why would purists be opposed to that car and the way it sits?  That car is a purist's wet dream: a car kept so original that it hurts... :shruggy:

I'd drive it but fix the hood, otherwise sweet   :icon_smile_big:
Old Dog, Old Tricks.

Unfortunately it would be illegal to drive on a road anywhere, but in the US of A.
By modern European and Worldwide Ministry Road laws, this car would be 'classed' as SCRAP, unsafe to drive! :shruggy:
Visible RUSTY edges that can cause injury...So enjoy it while you can... :2thumbs:

Love it anyways 5J...

Have you ever driven an early mopar (at speed) with a single circuit brake system and the brake pedal hits the floor??? :eek2:
Thats why its illegal to have one over here and most other places LOL!!!
IF A JOB's WORTH DOING, ITS WORTH DOING WELL, RIP DAD.
4-SPEED, 1969 Charger-500 is the most Coolio car in the World!

i love it!

I too would fix the hood, hate to have it fly back while going down the road!

otherwise, id have it clear coated and preserved like that!

Love those "patina" cars!

J.Bond

Somehow , Patina is in. I have a 66 Charger in that state right now, original paint, never been touched, accept it is in the same shape as the Coronet, actually , better. The car has sat in my barn for a couple of years, and no one has said much about it. Untill , I finaly got around to making some space in the large shop, put a new set of shoes on it and rolled it into the shop. Almost, everyone that has been in my shop, watching me strip the car, has said at one time or another, I would have left it alone and just driven it!!!!!!!!!! Then..... THAT..... article came out, and everyone that has seen that Hard Life Hemi article in my shop tends to tell me.....See, I told you should have left it alone....  Yeah Right!!!!!

Headed back out to the shop to continue what I was doing. Restoring a 66.
