No Number On Radiator Support?

I've got an original paint numbers matching '68 R/T and the radiator support has no numbers on it whatsoever.  The trunk lip number matches the fender tag and all other numbers (motor/trans) are present and accounted for and match up.  I've seen the radiator support number on many cars and know where to look, but mine is nonexistent.  Production date on my car was April 26th, 1968.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it doesn't have another number on it that doesn't match, just curious as to why mine made it through without getting a radiator support stamp.  Any ideas as to why mine wouldn't have been stamped?

If the trunk stamping matches your VIN, then you have other problems besides NO numbers on the core support.

Got pics?

Haha, my bad, the trunk lip doesn't match the VIN, it matches the fender tag sequence number.

Have you looked under the top flange on the core support? (need mirror to see)
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Mine doesn't have a number there either. I'm assuming it was in a collision earlier in life and the core support was replaced.

I have also seen them stamped on the inside face of the radiator yoke, far enough down from the top edge/flange enough that the stamp is nearly hidden by the radiator's top tank.  If the stamping is placed there (so far I've only seen it done this way on St. Louis-built cars, BTW), the stamping will be upside-down... readable by leaning into the engine compartment from over the front bumper and looking "back" toward the radiator yoke.  Hard to explain.

This is where I found mine on my 68 too.

Yeah, I was going to say that. LEON.

It is common and well known fact that on some Superbirds the core support was not stamped. I have personally seen two of them. So it is possible for them to miss another car.
