Okay so I read the threads on Carlisle and plan on attending this year...

Went to the website and saw that 55.00 gets me and my 69 admission and a parking space....

Wondering:

1. If there is a 'block' of spaces that forum members have?  If not, is there an area I should try to park in?  Would like to meet others on here that plan on attending...

2. I saw some mention of a forum tent (?) was that in a specific area?

3. Lastly any advice for a first timer to the event is appreciated.

Thanks!

1. There is generally an area for the Dodge Charger.com  group, and then there are B Body spacers, specifically for Chargers, based on breakdown of model-years.

2. The Forum tent varies, year to year in location. Check map for details, if there will be one again this year.

3. Drink lots of Water and wear comfortable shoes. There is very little shade at Carlisle, many bring their own (pop up tents) but must take down tents in the evenings.

If your car stands out, there are some great "Celebrity Choice" awards given by those in the industry or hobby. It's a cool honor to be chosen by those on the list of distinguished enthusiasts giving the awards. :coolgleamA:

I have been going to Carlisle for at least 20 years and love it. Last year though, I was literally there for 2 hours, as I was not feeling well, so missed out on much of the show. The heat was a big influence, I think.

Enjoy the event, it's like no other!

All good info above, especially about water!

1) I've been there a lot, best Mopar show IMO. If you have the luxury of time Thursday or Friday a GREAT time to get there, easy to get in, all the vendors and parts are there for the best selection and little crowds to fight. Also Sunday afternoon is great for bargains, I bought a '72 Charger fender for $25 as people were packing up lol
2) If you are going with friends and spending the weekend I'd leave my car Friday night and ride with friends...traffic Saturday morning is UNBELIEVEABLE. Car will be fine and you're already parked!
3) If you're looking for parts bring a kiddy wagon and have a knowledgeable friend to help look. There is literally a mile+ of vendor slots...very easy to miss that one special part!!!
Have on good shoes!!

advice is to get there early so you can find you way to the parking space of your dreams. cars are coming and going all day to eventually you will find the right area you want to be.

When you register your car for the Fun Field, you have to select a class to be in.

Thursday & Friday, the event coordinators are pretty lax with where you park for the day.

Saturday is the big peer judging day.  You MUST be parked in your class and within the ground markings in your class.   The show is full to capacity that day.  Sunday is pretty lax as well except they have a portion of the field roped off for those that placed in their class and want to attend the awards parade.

All excellent suggestions, especially water and COMFY shoes!  :yesnod:   Be prepared to do lots of walking in intense heat. Last year wasn't so bad, but I do recall the heat a few years back being unbearable.
The club tents sometimes do change location, but the staff does a great job keeping them close to their associated classes. Last few years the DC.com and the '70 Registry tents were practically across from one another.
There is a specific '69 Charger class on the fun field for stock vehicles only. Modified '69 Chargers, along with '68 & '70 will be in '68, '69, & '70 Dodge B-body classes, and there are separate stock/modified classes for each year.

Make sure to plan ahead and make your reservations early! Hotels seem to fill up fast. If you are trailering a vehicle, make sure wherever you stay has provisions for trailer parking.
The traffic on Friday & Saturday mornings can get backed up, so again plan ahead to get to the show early. Sunday is more a relaxed day, many vendors close up early so it's a good time to get that last minute swap meet deal.

This is VERY true! The only "judging" there is participant judging on the fun field, so when a special award is presented it is a very cool honor.
I also have a few Celebrity Choice awards, but by far the coolest and biggest honor came from MOPAR at Carlisle in '13:

Great everyone,  thanks for all the advice.  I'm planning on being there all three days... Will probably drive up but based on the input here... I"ll take two cars so we can park the Charger then drive to the hotel in the other.

Thanks again, those are some nice trophies!

Don't we need to sign up with the proper "club" when we register our car so that we can attempt to get the tent for free next year? And isn't that done online?  I recall they changed the process last year and you no longer wrote down the club name but it was in a dropdown box when you registered online?

As the plan is to bring the hunk of junk this year I want to make sure I give come credit to our fearless leader!  :2thumbs:

As always looking forward to seeing everyone again in the summer.   :yesnod:
