Just found out that there is a magazine article out there on Red Kilby's 1969 R/T SE, but I do not know which magazine ran it, and what month/year it was done. Does anyone know?
Thanks for the help, Scott.

I think I remember that but drawing a blank.  MM maybe?  Or even back in the days of HPM?  It's in one of the Robert Genat books.

I remember it in  mopar action I think , was  sometime ago ,when it had a tantop on it !!    think it has white top now !!

got a idea it was before 2009   :scratchchin:  not sure though

(cant check , have given all mopar mags away )

It's original top color was tan though wasn't it?

I have a couple of such articles.  Since 1994 I have clipped & saved every 1968-1970 Charger article I found in magazines.

I recall there was at least one article on "Ginger" in B&W (MCG, maybe?) and one article in color.

I will look over the weekend & scan.

Neal

PS - Yea, my wife thinks keep these articles in plastic sleeves in binders is 100% crazy.

Yes, Ginger's top was Tan, then Red changed it to White.

Thanks for looking! If you come across it, let your wife know that you helped out a fellow mopar enthusiast - and you are not so crazy!

Did some further digging and the author of the article is Jerry Pitt. With a little Googling, found out he was editor of Mopar Muscle from 1996-1999, and Publisher at MM and a few other Mags from 1999-2005. I am guessing since his name was on the actual article, it was probably during his editor days at MM 1996-1999. That may narrow the search down.

Thanks for the help!

Since the original top color code is not on the fender tag, you need pics or remnants of the original to know what color top the '69s had.

I looked thru 6 years of MM last night 1995-2000 - can't believe I missed it - but there it is.  :-\

Thanks guys! I will have to keep an eye out for that issue so I can have my own copy. Scott.

Unless I misunderstand you I have to disagree, the 69 models do have the top color on the fender tag.

Red's car is a sunroof car - and they did not put the V1_ top code on the fender tag for the sunroof cars since they were shipped out to ASC/CI for the install. Scott.

Thanks UFO. A dc.com member has a spare and is sending it my way. Others may want to see the whole article on Red's car though, so scan away!
