Has anyone ever bought or used this book? It's pretty pricey at $100 bucks. I have year to year factory service manuals for our b-bodies, but some of the descriptions aren't very detailed or have poor illustrations.  Looking for more detailed descriptions of the body alignment and assembly, lights, exterior stuff. The factory manuals are pretty good for wiring and mechanical stuff, but seem to lack the odd ball lil things when putting a car back together. Any good or bad things to say? thanks in advance

I have a copy, if you are doing an oem style restoration there is a lot of good info in there.  I can't verify that it's 100% accurate nor can I say the opposite but based on what very little I know it appears accurate.  If you just want it to consult as a general maintenance guide, it's expensive so tough call.

Basically I was hoping for some better pics and descriptions on body assembly than the factory manual has. Lights, body gaskets, trim, stainless and etc. Detail sort of stuff. My Charger will be basically going together a factory original car, any of my mods are fancy paint and drive train. But when stuff doesn't fit right and the book isn't very clear as to how it should be leaves one with lil to go with. Hate to come here with every lil question, but hate to put it together wrong as well :-) Chargers are unique enough that I can't go look at one of the other cars of mine, mostly Plymouths, and get the answer some of the time. I'm looking for another source, It may not have all the answers but it probably has some of them.

Not like that at all.  It has drawings of fasteners in it and describes where they are used.  I would have to grab my copy and look at it but there may be a few photos of fasteners in it too.

Not really, no.  I'll dig it up when I get home tonight and scan a couple of examples for you.

If you haven't seen this/these before give them a try. Very detail oriented and used by Graveyard Carz. Kinda expensive though. If you want to know where to purchase just ask.

But know going in that there are mistakes in it.

Yes I fully understand that but in this case we are dealing with a manual which touts itself as being a judging standard.  That alone would make many people restore a car "by the book" and then insist said resto was concours perfect when it isn't.  Not exactly your typical "how to" book you see on the shelf at Pep Boys.

and at $100 bucks it's very proud of itself. So far I have been able to answer all of the ???'s I've come across. With all 3 years of charger factory manuals. 68-70, I have been able to figure it out. I was surprised how different all 3 books are. So I'll save my $100 for more shiny parts. thanks for the help!

I was hoping there was a vendor or two who carried these so that I could look through one at Carlisle or the Nats. That way I could determine if it is worth my money and if it was, I wouldn't have to pay the big shipping cost.
