Charger Update - New Paint Job Ruined

Hey guys. Been awhile since i've been on here. As some of you know I painted my car myself in the fall of 2011. First car I ever painted and it turned out decent. It was alot of work. Well, the prep is alot of work. The beginning of last year we had one hell of a wind storm. The Shelter Logic car tent I bought in my profile picture turned into one of those wacky waving arm guys you see at peoples businesses. The metal wire attached to the anchors all broke and just one stayed attached. That tent whipped my car a few times then the metal frame just layed on the car and scratched every body panel down to bare metal. The roof has a 2 inch wide dent. The worst damage was on my drivers side upper quarter panel where a part of the frame scratched the car so bad it's a 1/8 of a inch deep. I think there is lead in there and thats why it dug so deep. Every panel is scratched except the front valance. I was so pissed off I didn't clean it off my Charger for a week. Luckily the glass and grille was spared.

Anyways in the spring and going to reshoot paint on the damaged areas so it doesn't look so bad. I'll never buy a Shelter Logic car tent again or any car tent.

Like you said, the glass and grille where spared, but it still sucks. Good luck with the repaint. Now is the time to change color. Or will you stay same.

I'm going to keep it white for now...It looks pretty good in white.

Sometimes it sucks learning things the hard way.  Looking  forward to the repaint.
