Mr. Lee

I want to change the oil pan and pick up on my 440 in my 69.
What would be better; take a stock model pan or a deeper pan like this one:

Would this pan fit without any modifications and can it be mounted without lifting the engine?

Thanks  :2thumbs:

Another option would be to use the oil pan that came on the 70 on up Hemi's and the early 70's HP 440's, it is a 6 quart pan plus filter and it fits in the chassis really nice and doesn't hang way below the k-member.

X2!!!!! I have the 70 and up hemi oil pan and pick up on my big block and it works great and doesn't hang way down like he stated above. Mancini has the oil pan and pick up set fairly reasonable!!!! :yesnod:

Another trick to give you some wiggle room ,
Take the inspection lower cover to front of transmission off , gives you a bit more room to come back to get pan out,
Yes doable in car , have it up high enough or on a hoist

don't like that oil pan its a pan (its what my builder recommended) when I go over things and don't go over dips fast either or you gonna bang it....my car is lowered so that's probably  my problem anyhow:

Thanks for the input guys  :2thumbs:

I will go for the 6QT pan as my car is some low at the front end aswell.

Yep that's the pan at Mancini Racing, also make sure you specify 3/8 pickup tube which is stock 440 unless hole has been enlarged to the 1/2 pickup tube the Hemis used.

kframe hemi type guard welded on to bottom of k frame,
it will give you some protection
