Chris is still a winner over here.

Sniff sniff...Thanks guys!

It was a valiant effort put in by all that helped.  This poll was only part of the overall contest.   Second in this poll & third in another FaceBook poll.  There was 2 other "member only" polls as well as 7 sponsor  votes (through out the Gold Eagle product line)  We'll know the overall winner by today the 24th I think.

They have a pretty cool online contest, but it seems like a complicated voting process with many different parts involved.

Ghoste

Yeah but it maybe gives a more accurate picture than just getting all the forums doing "vote often" bit?

TUFCAT

That's actually true. The more complicated it is, the more integrity goes back into the contest.

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

Some really nice cars.  I'd like to take a look at all of them but would only own the Chargers.

TUFCAT

I still don't understand the complicated voting process.....  :brickwall:  :eek2:

bill440rt

Well, at least Mr. Uglyflame and that Opel thing didn't win.
That '55 is a good looking car, but yeah the voting process/breakdown does seem complicated.

Complicated voting process but yeah that does make sense.

I think the Chevy proved to be a tough competitor.....and I appreciate the effort required to build a car worthy of winning.  :2thumbs:

So, let's take a bow for the owner of the '55 with the flames....although he didn't win!.

...but there's always next year. :yesnod:  :D

The '55 that won was not the tough competitor in the online poll. That honor goes to the one with the hideous flames. (Different '55, Tuffy).

Somehow the winner wasn't the black/orange flamed '55 Chevy!! ....so I guess the tri-five world must be screaming bloody murder!  :eek2:

I still congratulate him for bringing that car back from the dead and creating a car to create such competition over a '69 Charger R/T.  :D :icon_smile_wink:

...But this 1955 Blue/White Chevy Bel-Air was the winning ride "OUT-OF-NOWHERE"?  :shruggy:

Hey Sta-bil, I love your products.... but I really have to take exception to this voting process.

TUFCAT

This picture shows the "winning" car .....a Blue and White '55 Chevy Bel-Air with only 5.6% of the popular vote!

   How could this happen?

Tuffy, click this link (like I posted above)  There was more than one poll/process to win the overall 2014 Ride of the Year

http://www.coolridesonline.net/news-blog/announcements/the-2014-cool-rides-online-ride-of-the-year-contest/

Sponsors got to vote, hidden "member only" type polls etc.  Looks like I only got 1 "point" from the Sta-Bil guys

Looks like the other green '69 Charger got 2 points as well as the '69 Mustang... They are prolly the 2nd & 3rd place winners.  At least one Mopar placed!

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

TUFCAT

It still sounds like a very confusing (secret) process.   :smilie_help:

Especially when.....

The CRO "Forum" Cool Rides Poll winner gets only 1 point

Winner – Rick's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

The CRO "Blog" Open Poll winner gets only 1 point

Winner - Larry's 1955 Chevy 210 - (flamed)

Here's where the extra points came from:

Sponsor Selections:
1 point –  Ed's 1956 Ford F-100
1 point - Chris' 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1 point - Rick's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop
1 point - Vincent's 1969 Ford Mustang
1 point - Rick's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop
1 point - Ken's 1969 Dodge Charger
1 point - Vincent's 1969 Ford Mustang

Just 6T9 CHGR

You forgot....

CRO Champs –
We will poll the Cool Rides Online Champs, and the winner of that poll will receive 1 point for Ride of the Year –

Winner Rick's 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop

Public Facebook Poll –
winner gets 1 point –

Winner Ken's 1969 Dodge Charger
Chris' '69 Charger R/T

TUFCAT

I'm happy to see Ken's '69 Charger got some deserved recognition as well...  :coolgleamA:

Oh well, there's always next year. :brickwall:

Now that the contest is over........

I must say almost every big name brand company goes with sweepstakes entry voting - rather than "Facebook style" voting to ensure registered voters can only vote once.

Ever been to an "ALL" makes car show and or swap meet? Most in here would say yes to at least one time of doing so. And I'm referring to the all Mopar only enthusiast folks. Well as you know Mopar gets out weighed every time by Chevy and Ford. Hell even by Chevy or Ford on it's own. For me NEVER again unless I take in the fact that I'm going there and expecting nothing out of Mopar. Sometimes I do swap meets and some folks tell me about an upcoming show that is all makes and then proceed to tell me that I should bring my Mopar stuff there because I would be one of the few Mopar vendors there thus gain popularity on supply & demand. I say "BULLSH*T" to that under my breath. I mean the Chevy steering wheel will cost $10.00 where as the Mopar steering wheel will cost $100.00 and even if there is some Mopar pickers there, they will pull the "Your Prices Are Too High Compared to Other Swappers" card.

Well this voting poll topic kind of reminds in what world (at least for me) we live in when it comes to classic vehicles and being on the side of Mopar. There's nothing like Mopar fans when it comes time to separate  them individually amongst the others. Let's say if you were to have an "All Chevy" show, then an "All Ford" show and then an "All Mopar" show individually (3 events) within the same season (summer) at the same venue, Mopar would win the attendance/participants count hands down.

This is just my honest opinion being involved with Mopar for almost 40 years and from the experiences that I have had :Twocents:

BTW good run after all to Chris and his 69 R/T
