Wild color combo for sure.  I'm not trying to be negative but this car exhibits one of my biggest pet peaves right out of the gate, the exhaust.  Its wrong...even for turn down tips.  Otherwise the car looks quite good.  :scope:

I like gold and green Mopars....(not always together on the same car), but this works for me. The white vinyl top not so much. :scratchchin:

I hope it finds a good home. That's one rare RT/SE for sure!

Thanks for posting Drache.

JB400

Thanks for showing me what mine would look like from the factory, minus the R/T SE package and vinyl roof.

Not degrading by any means but it sure seems like there's more odd/rare color combinations in '69 vs. '68 & '70?

I wish I could have talked my good buddy into restoring his '69 Bee back to factory colors but he's like so many others in that it was a blank canvas for him.  B5 exterior with this interior.

Unfortunately, that green interior kills it.

It doesn't seem unreasonably priced by the photos. :shruggy:

Overall, a very nice car and reasonable starting price.

Just my personal opinion, I would have to change the interior color.

My blue Charger was a turn down exhaust tip car so I wanted to see what the hissing & spraying was all about.

I finally got to a pic of the rear & the wheel wells immediately caught my eye instead.   ;)

Regarding the exhaust, I thought I read that the cars destined for CA received the turned down exhaust.

Yep you're correct Shakey. I need to clarify myself. The turn down pipes on this car weren't cut or bent correctly.

Ghoste

I don't want to jump on the interior bandwagon but I have to admit that in the overall combination, I would change it too.  That or the outside, something to make the overall package better for me.  (if it were mine)

Very nicely restored Charger R/T SE overall :2thumbs:

Actually that probably explains the weird color combo. Three totally random colors to show off the various options. Bet the original dealership also had another weird combo with a black vinyl roof as well.

In this case of this gold/green combo, since the vinyl top was only available in black, white, green, and tan I would have left it off.  If a gold top was available that might have looked fine.  Gold/tan/tan would probably also look okay also.  :scratchchin:

Anyone got any idea why it has just a single RH head rest?  It says it on the build sheet and you can see it in the pics.  :shruggy:

Its like the red head orphan stepchild R/T , I couldn't own it and drive it with pride any day of the week  , nicely restored car though apart from the aforementioned exhaust tips.
Maybe it needs a buddy seat and column shift to complete the interior trifecta and hit the winning rock.

Technically, dual headrests wasn't required in 1969 until was federally mandated on new cars starting January 1st, 1969.  Window sticker shows sold new to Canada dealer so law may not apply?  I also can't see the fender tag, broadcast or window sticker well enough to get an idea of when it was built.

To answer your question, you could've ordered left, right, or both as options before they became standard.

Since we're being picky....it has a Holley w/electric choke, wheel trim rings should be brushed w/space inbetween the rim and ring painted black.  Also it has J55 undercoating option which should also include a hood insulation pad. :icon_smile_wink:   All easy fixes.  :yesnod:

Yes, the window sticker could be a reproduction, but the build sheet certainly looks authentic.  Plus with Galen's Certification as the real deal, its easy to get a window sticker duplicated.  I'm also curious as to why the fender tag wasn't photographed.  :shruggy:

The car is priced $49,990 CND.  Compare that to recent cars sold on tv auctions this month, and $40,274 USD seems pretty damn reasonable..... :Twocents:  Someone in the Northwest should be hauling this thing home.....looks like a 7hr drive north of Spokane, WA area (550 miles)

I see you didn't have to have head rests, but why would anyone order just one?

So, in a rear end collision, the driver gets his neck broken, but the passenger is OK.  I guess I see the logic there.   :scratchchin:

As an fyi, the A01 code is not a white vinyl top, its for the light group.  Interestingly there is another 69 with a VIN very very close to this one that was also built for Canada.  Similar equipment but a more accepted color scheme.

charger_fan_4ever

Since we are all speculating here.

Say during the resto the interior was changed out to black or tan. Increase the value ? decrease the value ? no effect ?

I get its rare but i'd think they buyers market would be a lot larger if it was blk, white, tan ?

Ghoste

I agree.  Right now to make the bidding jump you need to find two guys with deep pockets who mainly want it BECAUSE of the odd color.  Not easy to find.

charger_fan_4ever

imo another color interior would not lower the value, but i dunno if i'd pay more for it if it had say a black interior. Hard to say. I'd say a different interior would help it sell faster at the advertised 49k price.

TUFCAT

Its much cheaper is U.S. Dollars...   :yesnod:  I'd try to make a deal if I had the requisite dough now.

Drache

Your average Charger owner won't pay that for the car because of it's wacky color and option choices (like the Right side headrest only sort of thing).

The person who would buy this car is the collector who wants a numbers matching car that has outrageous options never before seen.

There is a reason why a car is "one of one" and in this case the "one of one" color combo doesn't necessarily make it more desirable.

Yes, but there's that percentage of people who seek out the odd balls. This car would definitely be one of them.

If I tally up the options on my '68 Hemi car, I can pretty much guarantee that it is a "one of one" car, but to me, it doesn't make it any more special.

no...either the seller or the guy that bid $44K cancelled that bid, which puts it back down to the highest bid without that buyers high bid

MxRacer855

Great looking car!  :2thumbs:

Can't say the interior/exterior color combo match that well though..

was about to say that...a lot of bidders FISH FOR THE RESERVES since the seller wont disclose it thinking once they meet reserve bidders cant retract it or something  ::)

So reserve your auctions at a million bucks.

That way it's easier to see someone who keeps "accidentally" (fishing) entering the wrong bids.   :shruggy:

If there is a BIN, I just figure the reserve can't be too far from that.  :shruggy:

So I see it is SOLD and gone from Ebay as well ?

Seems to me the last time I looked at Ebay that the auction price in U.S. Dollars, was more than the $49K Canadian asking on the Lot ?

Anybody catch what it sold for ? and in U.S $ or Canadian peso's ?

It did not sale.
To me it looks like most the bids were buddies and ran up the auction, then the auction canceled to try to catch a sucker............. The car is a very nice car with bad colors and most likely be a hard sell. In my opinion they should have not ran an auction trying to trick buyers. They would have been better off just running a buy it now sale with their asking price...

I thought his asking price was $49,900.00 Ca? That would be 49,900. CAD = 40,067 USD

Looking at eBay he had several bids over the $40K Us
So to me yes it does look fishy when the car brings over asking price and auction is canceled .... No sale
