Used just over a litre for about a 1000km trip to Minneapolis and back this past October. My cousin replaced these with new valve stem seals. Hard to believe these were once rubber. Cost me about 40 bucks for seals and new valve cover gaskets. I should add these were from the 340 car

They get cooked, rubber gets hard as a rock. I use to make the rubber molds for these at my first job, the groves on the inside are really a fine thread, they are made to leak oil, to lube the valve steam.
