Trying to get my speedos to read somewhere near accurate ,
35 mph reads 20 , no shaking or anything ,
Read the threads on hear to select the right one , removed old one to use number as a bench mark, roughly 5 mph per tooth increase,
The one I just removed has no part number , only 55 on it , teeth count the same
What do I have ? , not even on the chart,
Street tyres 275x60x15 , 3.23 rear, according to the chart , I'm needing 32 to 33 gear, ?

Oh when you reply John , odometer works ,
Don't know how accurate ,
I'm starting to think that speedo needs re calibrating , this high a tooth ? Should have had it spinning its head off ,
Or am I thinking the wrong way around

You counted 55 teeth? No such thing, 45 is the largest ever made.

You need a 30-tooth pinion YELLOW 52068152.

As always, use the odometer to verify the correct pinion not the speedo.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

cheers , i just knew you would answer,
with the gears , you count the teeth right ? to verify size , recounted , mopar speedo gear yellow in colour , possibly aftermarket

Kern Dog

Why count the teeth? The number is molded into the pinion.

fy469rtse

did both ,
will take a photo to verify,
i thought like john , that theres no such thing
mate of mine reckons truck one

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

You say you "counted" 55 teeth? I see only 33 and it's correct for your installation. The odometer is a better way to check accuracy.

If the speedo is incorrect with the correct pinion the speedo head is defective.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yes counted twice , yes speedo head kerplunk,
Got a new reproduction one on the way,
? Anyone tried one , guess I will be the patsy, gear much larger, should have taken a shot with 31 I had , almost a third smaller ?
It has 55 on it
