Not feeling the love with the Challenger hood.

HANDM

I was watching a "car" show a while back and the douchebag with a goatee said "2005 called and they want their billet back".

Makes me wonder if in another ten years, some other douchebag with a goatee will say "2015 called and they want their resto mod cars back"

Steering and suspension upgrades are one thing , totally remaking the key details is a bit much.

I personally don't see the attraction, if you want a new car get one, if you want an old mopar then you have to take the good with the bad or in the case of the Charger, the good with the good!

I'm a fan of both resto-mod's and completely original cars as well. But I only like resto-mod's that look classic (original body lines and interior, etc) but have performance upgrades like suspension, motor, brakes, etc... when the car starts to get re-designed, I'm NOT a fan. The most beautiful car ever built, doesn't need any help in the "cosmetic" department!  :Twocents:

Those rounded door handles are wrong for the car no matter what year it's being done.  The 2nd-gen design is heavier on the straight edges squarer shapes.  Those handles look like they belong on a 1990s Japanese car.

Memphis Mopar

If not mistaken the door handles are from a newer challenger.  I like them that's why they are in my build.

The hood looks nicely done, but I think it'd look more better on a 69 than a 68.

One problem with your logic: many new cars are fugly when compared to the originals that spawned them.  I am a big fan of the new Charger but NOTHING will ever surpass the original.  The next logical thing to do is to augment the original with modern technology so it isn't an ill handling traffic accident waiting to happen on today's merciless modern roads.

Personally, I don't see why people can't accept the new with the old or otherwise changing a car from stock.  There's this thing called "hot rodding?"  Has anyone here heard of it?  I really don't think so...

RIDELIKEHELL

That's the Control Freak front end I have & I notice it has the older style upper control arms. I got my replaced with the new style that has the adjusment free when Al from Control Freak heard I was running the older ones. Now my tires are straight up and down with proper camber & it also allowed me to get caster down to around 3 degrees.
