It amazes me how lack the rules are here on this forum and yet I don't remember the last member to even get banned (if any). I have no idea how this forum does it but others are literally falling apart. Just today I was banned from a facebook group called "The Glory Days of Drag Racing". No warning, just banned. The ONLY thing I did on that group was I started sharing all the old racing photos I collected. Nothing more. For that I was banned. I figured the admins were jealous because I was "showing them up" maybe and posting pictures they themselves wanted to post.  :shruggy:

This got me thinking though on how DC.com doesn't seem to get a bunch of a**holes that need to be banned.

Maybe that group is worried about copy write of photos and who owns them ( the photographer ) :shruggy:.
I have been leery to post photo's taken by other people's camera's.
Maybe this can be explained to me by someone here.

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

A sweet revenge is to post those pics here.  Many of us appreciate the cool pics you find.

Yes, this a civilized place.  :P

I think its because this site and its predecessor have been around for a combined 15 or so years. Most of the assholes are long gone, most left on their own. Otherwise we're pretty good at policing ourselves.

A website I am on constantly, has been threatened by AP, Huffpo, getty, talk show hosts and many others with lawsuits based solely on what its anonymous users post. For instance, you are allowed to post only 50 percent of an article and must include the link......

I've seen entire articles posted on here with no link or credit and worry about the admin getting hassled for it...

I can't believe what some people say in the comments sections of most websites I see. The most acidic, rude and vile things that can be found in print. It's hard to believe how bad things have gotten, and even the comments on the good news stories finds a way to go south. You could post a 15-second video of a kitten playing and somehow it'll turn into a cussing/insult match about racism or something.

Problem with FB is hacking. You may not have been banned by the admin. Might a just been a hacker playing round.

Yeah, that one. Aside from actually shooting people he was about the most ethically challenged character on Breaking Bad. A very entertaining character though. Looking forward to the spinoff but I'm doubtful it will have half the interest as its source material. I might end up waiting for Netflix syndication anyway, we'll see.

I've been here since 2003 (well, old site too) and I'm so used to how people here act/behave I think ALL boards are the same and I am consistently reminded had unique DC.com really is:
- My tech questions almost ALWAYS get answered....and CORRECTLY
- I know if I take the time to do a "How-to" thread it's is appreciated and used
- The only time I ever got in any kind of "war" with another member I soon received a PM apology
- On the few buy/sell deals I've made I've never had a problem
- Always pleasant people and when jerks come along on very rare occasion, the community shames them away

You think so? I thought that yeah, he did shady stuff, but always stuck to certain core principles (im thinking about the attorney-client privilege, and he was not a backstabber)

either way, the show looks promising (long-ish read)

Yeah, Mike will be a great addition. It tells me the show won't be all fun and games. From what I've read it sounds like it will be an 85/15 ratio of drama/comedy which sounds pretty similar in tone to Breaking Bad. Many of the same writers too. They tried to get the actor who played Jessie to participate somehow but it didn't work out. I've also heard there will be a Walter cameo from time to time.

Does this constitute a thread hijack?
