AM Radio question

This might be a dumb question, but I just don't know the answer. So here it is. My Charger has the R13 radio code on fender tag. How can I tell the difference between the R13 Deluxe Radio and a standard AM radio??

Dino

Without removing the radio I'm not sure you can.  There's an R13 code on ebay right now which has a white needle instead of orange, but I don't know if that's a giveaway.  I'd remove the radio to be sure.

Of course since this should be a whopping 5 watts, it should be almost audible through the stock dash speaker.   :icon_smile_big:

Thanks for the Reply. I guess not many here care or know.

Dino

I'd go with know.  I'm sure people care but the R13 is pretty rare.  I've never seen one except this one on ebay.  It sucks that you may need to pull the radio to find out though, especially if the dash is fully assembled and you have a/c.  If I find another way to identify it I'll let you know.

on the 67 Chargers, there was a 2.5 watt and a 5 watt....the difference on the outside was the 5 watt had 2 transistors in the front face of radio, one in each corner, the 2.5 watt had only one transistor
