They are probably using the V6 Eco-motor on that car by choice to boost (the motor's) image.

I dig it.

I know for a lot of us, it's hard to fathom the idea of certain cars having a six cylinder engine for a variety of reasons (tradition, etc). But then again, with tech being what it is....do you really care if its a 4 banger, a V6, or a V12 if either way you're getting 500hp? I dont.

That Ford GT still looks 10 times better than a Viper or Corvette.  :Twocents:

Turbo v6= less weight, better weight distribution= better handling.

This isn't exactly what I was thinking Ford would put out, but it's somewhat cool.

Mike DC

The current regular V6 & V8 Mustangs are only about 100 lbs apart, and that figure might even include some chassis/drivetrain beef-ups.

A good intercooled twin-turbo V6 will probably not save any big amount of weight compared to a natural V8.  And the TT setup brings a lot of downsides too.

don duick

well gm and Chrysler certainly do not have anything that compares to that for looks.

Looks awesome!  Although I'd rather a NA V8 to the boost, but that's just me.  Probably more so because I've owned an 80's turbo car  :eek2:

Not sure if I would fit in it but if I did I'd drive the wheels off it.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

They're running this car at LeMans next year.  Finally Ford will be back in action.  I always loved the race and try and watch as much as I can online.
Not to hijack this thread, but the new Mustang (which is hideous) that has the Ecotech 4 turbo will now have V8 sounds pumping through the sound system.  Guess the 4 banger is a little too quiet for some folk. :smilielol:

The new GT reminds me of the Jaguar XJ220; that car had a twin turbo V6 as well.

Most of us are old school car guys and will always favor displacement over anything else.  Personally, I feel a muscle car or exotic/super car should only be running with 8 slugs or more in its block; anything else is sacrilege.  Is it rational?  In the face of modern technology no, but muscle cars and exotics aren't supposed to be logical or rational...

I'm gonna call 75,000-125,000$ tops, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that.  Guessing ACUDANUT's 250,000$ estimate to be closer.

250K ?

Don't know how true it is, but I've heard in the range of 400 large.

Ghoste

They aren't going to give away anything made out of carbon fiber thats for sure.  The 400 seems high to me but I have nothing to offer to dispute it.  For sure it will be well into 6 digits. :Twocents:

The original FGT's were 157 large in 2005/2006 & these cars seem to be far more exotic.

ACUDANUT

When I asked about the price tag on those 06/07 Gt's, I was quoted 250k...A quarter of a million dollars.  No thank you.
