Name this car movie for me?

Saw this many years ago. Set in the inner-city northeast, had Robert De Niro driving a very stock light yellow 1966 Chevelle SS396. I believe there was a Vietnam-vet reference to his role?  I've never seen it mentioned  anywhere since.

Jacknife (1989) has De Niro (as a Vietnam Vet) driving a '67 Chevelle SS but if I remember correctly the car is black?

there is another film ,  with Vietnam vets  ,  deer hunter ,  not seen it since the early eightys though ,  cant really remember , no mopars in it , other wise I would of remembered    I think
