my mother had a labradog that looked like this     weighed 14 stone 

it was 18 when it died in its sleep  just because its fat don't mean it isn't active and for its size healthy , also think to them at least it means their loved

Brings back memories. We had a dog that looked just like that that was the "airport dog" at the small airport I used to hang out at. Her name was "Cha-Cha" and she'd wander from hangar to hangar looking for a treat and she found one at every stop. Anybody who didn't have a treat would get a severe woofing from her. Finally dies of cancer. Damn I miss her.

The owners should know better.  I have two Beagles and they would eat all the time if they could.  It's hard to say no to those big brown eyes.....but, you just have to, for their health.....
