This looks like 156008, it was at Mopars at the Strip in April.  I think it was the only non-Hemi in the main tent.

Beautiful car; started out as a wreck in a field.

Here's the body tag and the "before" picture that was by the car. Homerr, It's not in your new database if you want to have the honors.  That'll make it 231.

Looks almost identical to my Moparmates Green/green C500 here in the UK.
Love the Coronet style rocker moldings, (I think my mate needs one for his C500 too)
He has upgraded to 1971 disc brakes so 15-inch steelies for him.

mandatory in some states like CA.  Also I've been in a '69 R/T that was soooooo quiet it's still one of the cars I'd most like to take on a road trip.  It was a factory undercoated car as well.

noise is good.  noise ALL THE DAMN TIME gets old.

He probably has that much into it.  I talked to him last spring; he regretted not restoring a Hemi car. He said because of the cost and time involved in locating, then getting all the power options properly restored and functional, it would have cost less to restore a plain Jane Hemi car. It was his first Mopar resto, but the judges were very impressed by the workmanship and detail.

I guess one can get upside down with anything.

As long as all you Aero Experts are here, I'd like to toss a question out.  The trunklid cap on this car has a lip about 3/4 of an inch long running perpendicular to the flat of the trunk lid.  I've never seen this before,  but then again I haven't seen that many C500s and Daytonas with the trunk open.  Was this used for a while, a TSB to cure leakage, or something else?  :scratchchin:  Has anyone else seen this before?

Is this possibly a regular Charger trunk lid that was converted to a 500 lid? If they converted it this way that would explain it. I have never seen a car with much more than a 1/8 to a short 1/4" lip.

500Jon

I've seen a few C500/Daytona lids, they are all pretty much 1/4" single down-turn Flange.
Creative probably had a hardwood former to shape the double curve?
But to save time and effort, no double fold like door skins etc...

I double-folded my flange to make it stronger, but its still a 1/4".
Thats just me, motor trade and fussy!!! :pity:

No mention of a broadcast sheet or any other original documentation?   I guess its all on the fender tag.  But for the super high price of $165,000,  I'd sure like to have some original paper to back it up.

I like the looks of the 70 charger much better.

Here's its window sticker.  Since it's a repop, I know it isn't "official documentation" but it is a fun read.  Being sold new in Cali explains the air filter.

WOW... I love the green Mopars. I guess looking at the before pictures and if all the good rare parts were stripped out it would take a pretty penny to restore to that level. Well heck if someone what's a green on green C500 I would sell my original paint numbers matching never wrecked Bug Shield C500 for the 50k range. That's over 100k savings.... :2thumbs:
