Turned down a Charger in trade for my Dart

Since restoration the car has 7800 miles on the body and rebuilt 340 and 2500 miles on a brand new 727 transmission. Frame, floorboards, trunk, all rust free. Tiniest bit of surface rust on the body but that could easily be fixed with a little bit of car paint from Canadian Tire (costs about $5.) Interior is pretty much mint. It's a great car. Fast as hell and surprisingly not that bad on gas either. 650 Holley double pumper 4 barrel carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, long tube headers and 3 inch Dynomax exhaust all the way through

$15,000.00

Now maybe it's just me but there seems to be more than just simple "surface rust" in the rocker panels in the one picture. And the color of the body and the interior....

The biggest no was simply because the car was out of Province. A car needs to be near 100% mint to pass the inspection here in BC.

I'm not ordinarily much of a Dart guy but is not deal I would take either.  I love the part about 5 bucks worth a CTC car paint will easily repair the rust.

I had a car just like that w a 318 in 1977. Tradedit off for a 70 r/t ef8 green straight across. Gas prices.

Why spend the money on painting the car, redoing the interior, fresh engine/tranny, then spray bomb the stock steel wheels aluminum?

That was pretty much a no-brainer. The Charger interior is hideous.

4100 lb car with a 340 and old skinny tires is "fast as hell"? I guess he usually drives a moped?

Have to admit I am not a Dart guy as well Drache, but I would not turn down your sweet ride. This charger has been for sale for some time. Sadly the color is an issue. I would certainly hope the owner offered you some serious cash as well.  Most of us know what it is like to yearn for a nice ride, can't fault the guy for trying.
