Is there any reason that the PVC valve should be on one side or the other?

Just checking.  The PVC valve sucks air across the engine through the crank case.  There is no reason it should be on one side valve cover vs the other?  Is there? 

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

no, as long as the other side lets air back in, you can put it on any side you want...
