is there a clip that goes on the end of the throttle cable at the gas peddle?

I took mine off years ago and can't remember. the cable does not sit flat against the peddle plate grommet.

the ball type end of my cable goes through a hole in the pedal arm and then a small plastic push pin goes in that hole to hold cable in

if that made any sense

what year Charger do you have?

The end that connects to the pedal on mine has a little lead ball melted on it.  I hope that also makes sense.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

been able to get some information.

the clip I am looking for is as pictured. does anyone know where it can be found?

I checked YO, Mega Parts, Charger Specialties and Mr. Moparts with no luck.

the horse shoe shaped clip just went NS1 from Mopar a few years ago so it may not be real hard to locate.

that clip holds the cable housing to the firewall, not the gas pedal

it holds the cable to the throttle cable bracket, at the rubber grommet.

I think that you meant that
