Here are a few I have of those tires. Still have the wheels, but got rid of the polyglas early on in my ownership.

Car looks Stunning Troy!

I was really upset that Peter never took me for a drive in your Daytona!
I now know why.....

So what's the best way to ship Wingcars I wonder???
Well after speaking to Guys who have done it before, the Container method was risky!
Its all to do with loading and unloading at the Docks.
If the Guys that do the work are Car guys then you are OK!
If they are just Guys on a time limit, then you is in trouble.

So I asked the Shipper what's best?
He said that he ships Rolls Royce's and Bentley's all over the World without a problem.
They are Big cars like B-bodies and they just go RO-RO...
Makes sense really, drive it on strap it down, no worries.
They do Thousands of new expensive cars like that every day!!!

As far as I'm aware the P/B Bird and your Daytona were blemish free!
More than can be said for some Wingcars that came by Container???

Oh yes that reminds me, the old 'return line' SAGA!!!
What do R/T cars have that most peeps forget to hook up???
YEP... the RETURN LINE TO THE FUEL TANK...
On the way from Peter's house to the Docks, the driver of the enclosed truck could smell GAS!!!
He stopped in a Lay-by near his house in London, to find 20 gallons of fuel sloshing around on the floor in the truck!!! :slap:
The pipe from the line to the vapour separator was missing, the gas had syphoned out, ALL of IT...

So hasty repairs were done and the truck with its $200,000 cargo was stored overnight at the drivers house to dry out.
The Gas wrecked the 'wood and lino' floor of the enclosed truck and the truck owner was very accommodating in not wanting recompense for damage.
Obviously this was a near miss and who would be responsible for a total loss of truck and Daytona???

...

Thanks Jon...
I remember those pics from years ago, I believe you posted them?

Yeap, my Daytona has surely seen its fair share of exposure. I like the fact I'm returning a 426 Hemi to it like Pete had in it and going steelies, albeit black this time instead of body color... Do you recall why the fender scoops were removed?

HNY Troy.

I was very sad to see these wonderful Wingcars leaving the UK!
Not sure why Peter didn't fit the Fender scoops?
He was acting strange when I asked for the Cars to go out on a Road Test.
He said they weren't insured and said he would guarantee the engines and drive-trains (without my inspection) to be fine!
We now know that wasn't quite true, especially the HEMI!!!

Its my firm belief that all AeroCars should be Hemi's and four speeds to truly replicate their Racing Cousins!!!
Obviously that's not a good selling point in the USA for many practical reasons.
So I am over the moon to think that some were built this way for the many true enthusiasts!!!
To find my 440 4-speed C500 was amazing indeed.
My good friend Julius also sold me a date coded 426 hemi to make my C500 complete!!! :notworthy:
