Full choke....nicely done. The best I could do is 3 with the old pump.

Have to look into an 1187.
I recently bought a Mossberg SA20 auto loader.
It's a well balanced scattergun and fits me perfectly but......

it doesn't eject shells worth a damn. Some say I need to
cycle hotter rounds through it i.e. 1350+ fps.
A shooter on CalGuns has this same gun and says he solved
the problem by polishing all the residual machining marks
in the upper receiver as well as the breech itself.

Any thoughts on this. Drache et al?

I am just using the 100 round value packs from walmart. 1000fps if i recall. Just junk plinker shells. Never had a problem with it and ive put thousands of rounds through this gun. When i shot sporting clays, i would use the premier shells and custom hot loads with no problems either.

Very nice shooting!  I am impressed that you got all with a full choked shotgun!  I love shooting clay pigeons and usually use a hand thrower with a friend or two. I usually break more than they do but I shot a lot of shotgun rounds in my life and have learned (long ago) that you do not look at the sights on a shotgun, you look at the target!

I started shooting shotgun when I was 10 or 11 years old and was shooting my uncle's old exposed-hammer side-by-side 12 gauge!  It would nearly knock me down when I fired it and cocking back the hammers was an experience for my little azz also!

Anyway, nice shooting and a Remington 11-87 is a fine shotgun.

I was taught to shoot shotguns and pistols the same way.......once familiar
with the gun(s) track the target.
Same with baseball.......keep your eye on the ball.

Hey twodco,  point-shooting a pistol in defensive situations is absolutely the right way to learn to shoot a pistol.  Target shooting is different but, learning to point-shoot is plenty accurate and way faster than worrying about finding your sights which will be useless in the dark after the first shot, night sights or not!

Gotta cycle the action pretty quick. The 3rd one hits the ground unscathed more often than not. I'll be picking up a Benelli autoloader soon. Looked at some today actually. Decided on the M4. Not for clays, but for all the IPSC plates I have "hanging" around.

You will LOVE the Benelli. I had an M2, another outstanding
Benelli but had to sell it in favor of a 20 gauge.
My old shoulder can't take the kick of a 12 anymore.  :icon_smile_sad:

Well I picked up a couple M4s. As the Canadian dollar was dropping the prices climbed to $2269 pretty much everywhere. I came across a couple new in box for $1795, so naturally I bought them both.

The M4 is one fine firearm. Lobbed a bunch of slugs today at a 200 yard target. You're right, I love it.
