Just a quick question.  My reading on the internet suggests the axles might be slightly different lengths, but that the housing assembly (axle, brakes etc...) could be interchanged as one piece.  Is this correct?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

68-70 b body rear ends should be the same in each family(ie 8 3/4 , dana60 etc). There is one thing that I know of for sure that is different. The axle tube vent in in a different place on the 70 than the other two, making the brake lines and the rubber hose the same for 68 and 69, but different for 70. As long as you use the appropriate lines on each they should interchange no problem.

68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

The axles are a touch different length due to the change in the carrier design but the slight difference can be taken up with the adjuster so the axles are interchangeable
