Can anyone tell me where to get the rebuild kit for the firewall mounted heater valve
69 ac car , got mine running and this is about the only leak I got ,
Any links to a thread also on doing the build , or is it simple once apart ?
Was bought as a rebuilt valve ? But seeps ,

Dino

My first rebuild attempt failed as the valve would not completely close off the flow of water.  I replaced the plunger seal and same story.  I assumed the brass tube was a bit out of round but before messing with that I decided to put some more tension on the plunger so I adjusted the mechanism a bit.  Now when I pull the temp slider back it's nice and firm and no more flow!

If yours is leaking only where it meets the firewall then use some permatex ultra copper on both sides of the seal before you install it.

Dino, from the info you guys posted ,
looks like at worst, pull it apart and seal with a good sealer the larger of the two neoprene washers to where the tabs hold that on the copper tubes go thorough for connection of heaters hoses.
thats where its seeping and drips down firewall

Dino

Yeah that's the main seal available everywhere.  Very easy fix.   :2thumbs:

Thanks Dino, unexpected leaks
Last gauge to get working , could you post a link to your thread on fuel sender, mine reads half full when tank full
Took a bit of work to get this function,
It reads a bit over empty when half, I remember yours was a practical solution
