2 superbirds that had rough lifes in the early days

I know its a dodge board But there discussions about superbird wings and clones.But these 2 superbirds had a rough lfe in the early days.There is even a 1 owner 6 pack bird near my town that was on its side after the grand son snuck it out for ride.And ended up in a lettuce field.Theres is a picture in the 78-80-s Vineland south jersey newspaper .Called the car is a little on its side.But these 2 superbirds had a rough lfe in FL and Northern NJ

The reason that the discussion board was given the generic name of "Aero Cars" was to include all of the wing cars and race inspired type vehicles such as the Superbirds, 500's,Talladegas and the Cyclones. It's great hearing about them since they are an intregal part of the race history of the Daytona. I think that most of the people that own the real Daytonas would love to have one of each of the aero cars sitting side by side in their garages. Now that would be the ultimate collection. Of course the King Cobra would be missing since there's only one of those left and I doubt that it could be bought.

FWIW there were 3 King Cobras at the 2004 Talladega reunion, although I can't say that all three of them were original cars.

According to the book, Supercars, there is only one King Cobra in existence. Others may have surfaced since the book was written or the others may have been clones.
Anyone else know how many King Cobra's are left out there?

There are three accepted KC's out there.  Two of them have lineage back to Ford via MSO's.  Those are:
The yellow ex-Bud Moore car - not sure who owns it now  This was the one from the Supercars book.
The red car - currently with Stuart Wieman out east.    Bud Moore also once owned this car.

There is a third car, yellow,  which has been owned by Steve Honnell in TN for many years.  It has paperwork taking it back to Holman-Moody where he bought it in component form.   Steve also has a recently surfaced Mercury version of the King Cobra, which has a similar but different front clip.   It's been represented as an original Ford car, but I've not seen paperwork to back it up.   Kind of like the '70 Daytona thing, if you know what I mean.

I thought Doug might have remembered the FK5 hemi superbird  in NJ that was a hemi car flipped over and attacked .As it was in his dads club newsletter.And might have some follow up info on it .Or maybe a picture.That might have been submitted with that story

I only remember the Dave Jones car and the Steve N. car.   What issue was it in?

Stories about mopars crashing or getting wrecked like that story of that guy with the daytona, roadrunner and challenger that got destroyed in the fire is enough to make me

As far as people wanting to have one of every type of aero car, there are a few people who are very close. I know of a few people who have Superbirds, Daytona's, 500's as well as Talladega's and Cyclone spoilers.

There is at least one DSAC member in Illinois who has one each of the five cars.  He's the fellow with the Street Kit Car with 247 miles.

I know he has a lot of Talladega's and Superbirds, but only 1 500 and 1 Daytona I can think of. I don't recall any of the cyclone spoilers in his collection though.
