I need tach recommendations for a tic toc tach project

So I have an old tic toc tach that is no longer working.  The guts were fried and the metal face legs were bent.  I took it apart, straightened it all out, and got some decals to redo it.  I also bought  small tach off ebay to use the guts but it's not going to work.  The needle axis has to be long enough to go through the stock face and accept the stock needle and it's not even close.  So I need a tach that I can take apart that will make this work. Because of the funny scale on the stock tach, a 9K tach would probably work best but the main concern is having it read correct up to 4K or so. I'm not too worried about accuracy above that.  Does anyone have an idea of which may work?  I'll see if I can measure how long the needle needs to be.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Did one car and took the face with me to store , I think auto meter, but I discarded the clock as it was just too much work , I only wanted the tach
I took the face in with me so I could compare the sweep and rev range

Why not try charger specialties? I bought my tic toc tach from them and it looks great. Not sure if they'll sell parts or not though http://www.chargerspecialties.com/tachos.htm

Maybe try these guys :shruggy: http://www.instrument-specialties.com/services/gauges-clusters/
