Why even post it with such a price.

IF and only IF it's a true "BOSS 302" Mustang, then it's a little high, but then again, why even attempt to put your asking price when there are those that live for the haggle rather than the car.

He admits in the ad it isn't cheap.  I dunno, like Cooter says, its a bit high but maybe weeds out everyone who figures they should get a Boss for 15k? :shruggy:

TUFCAT

Based on his fuzzy pictures and equally 'fuzzy' description, he's probably not serious about selling it anyway.  :scratchchin:

Ghoste

Good point too, CL is a great no cost way to test the water.  Not everyone is good at photos and posting though either.

For a Boss car?  If you can find good ones for 15k let me know.

ACUDANUT

It's jus a little 302.  It's not like the holy grail.. Boss 429

Ghoste

Which is why the Boss 429 is worth more.  Saying the Boss 302 cars are nothing special is like comparing a Challenger TA to a Challenger with a 340 four barrel.

ACUDANUT

A Boss 429 still ain't worth 75K.  Remember we love Dodge here.

Ghoste

Not denying my love for Mopar over other makes and have the bills, photos, stories, scars and ink to prove it but working in the classic car auction business I can't help but look at it realistically.  You're right, A Boss 9 isn't worth 75k.  You need to put at least a "1" at the front.

Troy

It seems most Mopar people assume every Camaro or Mustang is cheap. Bad assumption! A Boss 302 is neither common nor cheap - especially not a low mileage car with (hopefully) all the original parts. Heck, my 70 Mach 1 has a book value higher than every single one of my Mopars except the 68 Charger R/T 4-speed. As for restoration costs, you can build 2-3 Mustangs with NOS or very good repro parts for what it costs to do a 68-70 Charger. That car is still overpriced but not by nearly as much as you may think.

As an aside, one of the largest collectors/builders of 69 "R" Code (428 CJ Shaker) Mustangs is just up the road from me. Last time I took dad for a visit there were 14 finished cars plus a 69 Shelby, a 70 Boss 302 4-speed project and a 69 Torino Cobra. My dad spent most of his time looking at the Boss 302. Must be where I get my love for twisty roads...

That's not too bad of a price for someone who wants an original/unmolested example of a Boss 302.  (Assuming that the car is unmolested & original.)  Most "restored" Cars are selling for that price but would have to be completely re-done if you wanted a correct "Factory" Assembly Line example.  I think it is better to pay more for a good original Car than to spend additional money having to fix someone's incorrect work.

I was offered 10 times that amount (literally) and I wouldn't sell mine.  I think they are one of the nicest looking Muscle Cars ever built.

That would work if I was more concerned about value than anything else! ;) They match (both are blue/white) so if I sell one I don't have bookends any more. Then my books will fall over and that would make a mess.

I'd have to agree.  Personally, the 69 fastback would be the stang for me.  Don't let that detract from the fact your 70 is absolutely stunning though.
