Christmas moods?

Ever notice some folks get moody around the holidays? (I have.) Seems like high/low swing season for some?  :scratchchin: I've been in a really good mood lately with things under control and going my way. Seems like some get pissed at me being happy.  :shruggy:

People are trying so hard to be "merry" they end up being anything but that.  Happiness comes when you accept and embrace your life, no matter what is going on in it.  With the over-materialism and the ridiculous standard we place on ourselves to be "merry," it's no wonder people are nuttier during the holidays.  I say we do without it and just relax as a civilization for once...

Yea that's why I'm good now. After 25 years of working my butt off and doing the single parent thing the last 13 the kids are up and running fine. Healthy in body and spirit, self supporting, working with good jobs and bright futures all four of us want or need for nothing really. This season I have the luxury of splashing some cash on the old Charger with everyone's blessing! (The old mule got us through some rough times and has earned it's keep.)
We actually LIKE our jobs and where they are heading so we are blessed to have that figured out.  :2thumbs: (I'm grateful everyday, not just the holidays!)

FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

Over the decades the celebration of the birth of Christ has becoming
nothing more than a grossly orchestrated orgy of commercialism.

"I love you......Merry Christmas and I'll prove it, Look at my CC balance."

Personally I'm crashing but I'll survive...........I always do.

Thanks twodko! We had hard times to, one year I had to hock the Charger for 500.00 just to pull off a good Christmas. (Crappy title loan deal.) The guy about crapped when I showed him the 6 pack sitting under the rusty hood. He offered to loan much more than I could repay and he knew it!

I love the feeling of relief I experience when it's over. That's about as much merriment as I can muster.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I'm having a tough time getting in the mood this year. Christmas is normally one of my favorite times of the year however, so no worries, I'm good.

I think most people get up tight because of how commercialization was taken this Holiday season over, for many decades now.  I went out today to try and get a few things.  There was three times the normal traffic on the road and the red light runners, cut off artists and distracted drivers were out in force.  People were ready to kill for parking spaces and inside Costco was like trying to drive out on the streets.  No wonder many people just get pissed.  I, however, know that there is some cool Firecore stuff under the tree (via Ron) that will soon be Charger bound.  With that in my mind, how could I not be happy!

I could get bitter about the whole commerialism, the constant songs wherever you go, and seeing the utmost worst in people come out when there's a limited sale going on.  But I'm not going to be bitter because this is just how humanity is and nothing I do will change it.  But I'll be real glad when this crap is over with!

For those who celebrate it, merry christmas!   :icon_smile_big:

I agree and also tired of the massive bombardment from the media and retailers.  We do not celebrate Christmas and that is out of respect for my wife's religious beliefs. With that we do not accept Christmas gifts. So every year I give my Christmas bonus(tax free, no write off) to a coworker whom is a single mom with three teenagers.  The happiness in her eyes is the best gift for me to receive.  Giving is better than receiving.

My hat off to you sir!  That's a mighty nice thing to do.   :2thumbs:

My wife and I are non religious so we simply don't celebrate any religious holidays.  I used to get annoyed that I couldn't work on certain days because of a holiday I had nothing to do with, but once I started working in healthcare I realized they will let you work 24/7 if you let them.

We're actually going to visit a friend who's alone for Christmas.  Even thought it's just another day for us, it's something special to her so we'll be doing our best to give her a day to remember.   :icon_smile_big:

I am in healthcare as well my friend!  24/7 that is an understatement.

My hat is also off to you also!  That day you provide to her is worth its weight in gold.   :2thumbs:
