I talked with the seller.
Originally it was sold to him by Flemmings Garage in MD. They're thieves and highwaymen just like most other muscle car dealers.
The owner said it had been restored in PA 3 years ago. Didn't know who did it.
As for better 68 RT's out there for sale for equal or less money, I just ask: where?

Just a question, I have no opinion on the price.   I noticed that the rear side marker light sets back on the stripe next to the rear of the car, isn't it supposed to be centered on the line between the stripes?   Just a little thing but those kind of visual things bug me.

Ok, now that I've looked thru this site, I see that the rear side marker is centered in the rear stripe, sorry for the brain fart!

No brain fade Mitch , your post had me thinking, was centred in the exact wide stripe part or like you said , a visual thing
I remember having many disagreements with guy's here in Australia , I dared v my stripe in the centre of trunk lid to follow the shape ,
I had worked for 3M over here and didn't like the original stripe material ,
I masked my up and panted the on my triple greet 68, didn't talk to guys on forums back then , and had based my stripes on Bakers race car photo's
They all said it goes straight across ,
Just turned out the early repro stripe kits here were wrong ,

I like it , look closely lots of signs of a honest in good condition car ,that had a mild resto , and don't just look for the things that are wrong,  how many 4 speeds were built? , ok there's a few things not right,
But mostly a very nice car,
Wish I had the money , then I would drop it Brian to correct the things wrong with it , just to keep you guy's happy
Who doesn't like a black 68 , and 4 speed , ok the price , but if its a genuine 4 speed car , cheap for the work and hours of our time we put into our cars fellas ,
Do the math , bill your hours to your self plus parts , I don't want to think about it ,
