is the car painted?

The engine bay, underside, trunk, and inside the car is painted. I'll post those pics when I get them this week.

It's ridiculous how long it's taking...  :flame:

Here's the pictures of my long, steering column rebuild process.

This thing started out ugly!

I thought the Satin black powdercoat we used would have been way less glossy. It turned out nice though.

I went with a Chrysler Argent on the inner tube, and left the actual axel/shaft with a raw metal look that we clear coated to prevent rust.  :2thumbs:

The original turn signal actuator was broken. the signal lever would have to be held down in order to keep the light blinking.
It will be nice to have that option functional again!  :2thumbs:

The one thin metal "cover" piece attached to the column is bent.  It is the cover for the turn signal wires.   The four inch narrower portion that is bent back, needs to be straight.

Finished product!  :2thumbs:

I saw that earlier Mopar! I'll get that squared away.

Thanks!  :2thumbs:

Good work Jeff
Good to see you got it sorted, this car is going to have some serious detail work judging from what I have see so far
Pedal assembly , now column,
Not to mention the body work and effort put in
With the turn signal switch, I layed mine out flat and straight, touch of super glue here and there,
Keeps them all flat and away from column's internal moving parts, just like original loom to this area was  :Twocents:

As always, I appreciate the kind words!

That's what I'm going for. Not leaving any stone unturned.

Thanks for the advice, I'll gladly take it and use it.  :2thumbs:

Can't wait to post pics of the car when it comes back shortly.. hopefully!  :brickwall:

Just rebuilt this air grabber/box on the driver side.

Finished product.  :2thumbs:

Dash frame was all sandblasted and painted. I left the vin tag on it unrestored. That's the one thing I wanted to leave alone.

Adds to the coolness I think.  :coolgleamA:

Engine bay is all painted!

Wet sanded and coated in gloss black and clear.  :2thumbs:

MxRacer855

Trunk is coated in satin black to hide any small imperfections.

MxRacer855

Bottom of the car is also in satin.

It will be easier to keep clean and touch up.  :Twocents:
