As I told you when I met you, I wish I had the skills to do this work myself.   One of these days I'll attempt to do a full restoration myself, and hope for a end result that is half of what your skills are.     Your a master at bodywork......  Believe me, I'm interested!

ok..... Factory seam sealer and trunk floor. Only replaced seam sealer where the floor meets the right side trunk floor extention.

Brian, what seam sealer is your choice to use?   Have you had any experience with bad ones?

Another question on the seam sealer. How long do you have to wait to paint it. I had to wait a while with the 3M stuff as it was still fuming. :shruggy:

I like the transtar brushable stuff in the caulk tube . I like to wait at least a couple weeks before painting over it . If rushed it will shrink and the paint will crack.

In theory Steve . I don't reccomend applying any paint right over rust. Clean it as good as you possibly can and then use a product like chassis savor etc.

Just to clerify though. On my roof it was stripped to bare steel and it had no rust. I epoxied it, body worked it, then poly surfacered it , and blocked it out. Then, I sprayed it with chassis savor. Only reason is that the chassis savor is far cheaper than base and clear. And, it will be protected at least as good.

It reall makes the paint job a lot easier when you don't need to do the roof at the same time as the rest of the stuff.

No no.. I didn't mean COVER THE RUST. I meant once it is cleaned to bare metal, is this what I should use to keep it from rusting ever again.. From what I have seen, ma mopar was not good about painting inside the lid and most cars ticketed for vinyl didn't get a very good paint job over the lid. 

My 65' is extremely close to rust free. It's just  sort of a dust inside the lid.. I'm thinking after seeing your speed. you could do my car in a few weeks!!!!  ;)  Great stuff!!!!!!   :2thumbs:
