fuel tank , pressure???? other brand

My wife has a 2001 blazer with the 4.3 . She forgot the gas cap when she got gas. I have tried 2 different style caps ,one suppose to be generic the other the original replacement. The problem is after driving ,when she needs gas ,she needs a channel lock to remove the cap. Is there too much pressure in the tank? Anyone else have a similar problem? Thanks

can you hear excessive pressure releasing when you open it?  if not, put some sil-glide on it. make sure you have the correct cap.  if you do have excessive pressure, could be a stuck tank valve. we usually see tank valves stuck in the open position, and not building enough pressure.  i.m guessing this started with the lost cap, so I think you have to find the correct cap.  Bruce

I don't know about when opening the cap. I will find out. What/where is the tank valve?

rule out the cap first before you worry about the tank valve. the tank valve is located by the emissions canister. tell me, did this all start with the missing cap?

I just took it for a ride until it got nice and warm. Cap came off fine for me. I'll have to have her show me how SHE takes it off. Sigh , time will tell....Thanks for the help.
