Good Day Folks,

Saw a photo on another site and figured I'd share it here.  Found a few more that I'd also share and while we're at it, have some fun with it!

Along the lines of Ghoste's "Chargers in the Background" thread, take a look at these old pics and point out the desirable cars.

I love these pictures, here's another one, I believe I got it from this forum.

I can just stare at them poring over the individual cars without spotting muscle and find the time gets lost quickly.

My eyes are also not as good as they used to be... :eek2:

However in photo # 3 I did see a familiar front bumper on a '71 Roadrunner.   :scope:

I used the iPad screen to zoom in which made it easier.   :yesnod:

And yes, that looks like a Dart in the first photo.

Homerr

We did go through a bunch of these a while back, can't find the thread.

Here's a larger version:

QuoteCARS WERE JAMMED EVEN MORE THAN USUAL INTO EVERY SPARE SPACE AT A DOWNTOWN COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT DURING A BUS STRIKE IN WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, IN MAY, 1974. SOME 250,000 PEOPLE WERE FORCED TO FIND ALTERNATE FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION, USUALLY THE AUTOMOBILE. MONUMENTAL TRAFFIC JAMS RESULTED AS DRIVERS LEARNED THERE WERE MORE CARS THAN LEGAL PLACES TO PARK. AS A RESULT THEY USED BUS LANES, TRAFFIC "ISLANDS", "NO PARKING" ZONES, SIDEWALKS AND LAWNS

Wow - much better!   :2thumbs:

Yep, that looks like a Dart!

Also spotted an E-Body, white with a vinyl top, beside the brown station wagon.

The red car with the hood scoop behind the VW van looks interesting.

Sure looks like it.  Also check out the speakers on the package tray.  And here we are trying to restore them back to how they once were as if these cars stayed stock for more than a week.

those speaker humps look like the old kraco speakers we had back in the day. I actually found a set at a swap meet. I will put some good speakers in them and hook em up to an 8 track I have ready to go in this winter!!! :2thumbs:

I miss seeing all those beetles running around, I have always liked them.

polywideblock

I was thinking wow there are a lot of beetles,   counted nearly 50 in just one pic   :yesnod:

Ghoste

A lot of Beetles but no Hondas or Toyotas so I suppose it would make them stand out more.  :shruggy:

Back in the day when cars had personality, nice Pict's. Thanks. Try some of those same shots with todays cars.

Davtona

Makes you wonder where did they all go?  :'(

Dino

Turned into little cubes.  Some really suffered and were painted a dumbass two tone paint job on Overhaulin'.  Most were put out of their mysery by the crusher though.   :nana:
