Hey all,

I have always had a soft spot for a few of the exotics. When I was young I had the token Lambo posters on the wall along with Farrah Fawcett...  :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: Anyhow, one of my favorite automakers is Aston Martin. Can't say that 007 didn't have anything to do with that but then again the Dukes had their impact too and look where I am.  :P  I have been shopping around hoping to sort of stumble upon a good Austin Martin enthusiast site that has the same "feel" as good old DC.com so that I can start to come up to speed on the cars. There are several owners clubs (not me) and a few enthusiast, or combination sites. Looking through them is certainly interesting but also time consuming and something I wish I had more time to do but alas... So on that note, if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Thanks,

I came close to buying an Aston Martin two times in the past...with their current value, I wish I had.  The first was a DBS that an individual had dropped a 350 Chevy engine into.  Thought it would be cool to have the looks without the Aston's engine maintenance issues.  But I reconsidered, as the 350 really hurt the overall value of the car.  The second was a DB-6 that would have been a real buy, but it had the English right drive and so I decided to pass after all was said and done.  I would still love to own an Aston Martin AM V-8 from the 70's or 80's...love the body style.
And, yes I too was influenced by 007 movies back in the day.........

When I was still in auto body I helped restore a DB6 and had the privilege to do minor repairs on an old Vantage before driving it back to the owner 2 hours away.  Holy cow that was a nice car.  I thought I would have to spend a lot to get a Delorean but I think you'll win this one.

One of the few and far between benefits of being a body man maybe?  :shruggy:   Yea, it would be nice, considering I love the DBS I'd be in a bit deeper than a Delorean.  :eek2: :eek2:  Who knows, maybe my ship will come in.  :smilielol:

Love the car though. And the sound is wonderful.
