Well I went and used that damn search button again !!

I am collecting parts for my 440. I am going to be following the "lowly 440" build in the engine section pretty closely . The build uses the 440 source roller rockers, I did a search and found numerous complaints about them !!?? Of course now I am a little hesitant to use them.

How much difference will a set of rollers really make compared to a solid / oem style rocker?? For a mild street build

I'd get a set of the Crane Iron Ductile rockers. I run them with a hydraulic cam for now but down the road could go to a solid lift cam. Sturdy and zero issues so far.

Good topic to read through.

So then there is really no advantage to using a roller rocker ?? Just curious as to why it was used in a "budget build " if there is little reason for it ??

Got crane irons in the max wedge. (700+ lift full roller) no issues there.

Hmmm so the roller seem like a bit off a waste in my case

Mopars dont need a roller on the shaft
The bushing is plenty.

And in many others.  There is no advantage for rollers on the shaft at your level, and much higher levels as well.  The roller tip does provide less scrubbing across the valve tip.  But not a particularly important feature, at your level, IMO.  I would rather have a good used set of Crane or Isky ductile iron rockers than just about anything new that is less that $400 or $500.  Again, JMO
