Hey all-
I've had my Duster in storage for just over a year now. As most of you know, life gets busy and cars get put on the back burner. I've gone to check on it maybe a handful of times in the past year. It's in storage at my fiance's friend's place so she sees it every day and checks on it for me as it's parked right beside her. It's stored in a heated underground at her condo complex. I trailered it to her place last November, drove it off the trailer and drove it into the spot. Put two layers of covers on it and called it a day. I tried to start it about 5 months ago but it wouldn't fire. I asssume it's probably out of gas as I'm not sure when the last time it actually had gas put in it? :-\ My grandpa and I back in 2013 pulled the engine and transmission, put brand new seals and frost plugs in it (had numerous leak issues) and re-installed it so it had fresh oil, antifreeze etc when it went into storage being I trailered it straight from the shop to her place. Is there anything I should check before I try to fire it again? I'm thinking about dumping a good sized Jerry can of premium gas into the tank, dumping a little into the carb to prime it and turning it over....

Take a couple gallons of premium gas, a can of starting fluid ( better than dumping gas down the carb ) and some jumper cables. Cranking it over will prime the oil system and the fuel system. Should start.

I started my Pontiac a few months ago after sitting for 2 years without starting it....just cranked it over until it started up.....by the time it fired, oil pressure was already registering on the gauge, took it out, filled it up, drove for a while, came back home and put it away again
