anyone else notice the Odometer!?  must be a Wal-Mart car, they're rolling back the mileage!

You guys are amazing, only thing I noticed was the missing exhaust and the transmission inspection plate until you guys started pointing things out. I'm inching closer to my dream of a 2nd gen charger and this place is an awesome resource for learning.

A walmart car really. Why don't you tell me what makes you think they rolled back the mileage.  Unless you know the car you have no way to know if they did. And I bet have the guys on here don't have a perfect car. I bought a car from them a couple of years ago and it was perfect. This is getting out of hand. So if you want to dog me go ahead I am a man and can take it. Just saying you guys are quick to judge other people maybe you should be judging yourself.  :flame: :flame:

We do judge ourselves, all the time, stick around and you'll see.  My car is far from perfect but I wouldn't put a price like that on it either.  I reread this thread and don't see anything that is untrue.  Regardless 'how' the odometer was set, don't you think it's a bit odd to see a half mile on the clock?  If someone took the time to get to the speedometer gears to reset it, which I did to mine when I rebuilt it, then why was it not done here?  For the asking price that car needs to be done much better than it is.  With corners cut like it is I wonder what is there we cannot see.  I was a professional body man for a long time and I can see a lot of things wrong with this picture.  It's a great car but I would not be surprised that the deeper you dig into it the more work you find it will need.  In essence, the price tag does not match the car.

So why is a guy who has bought from these seller so hell bent on defending them?  Is this your car?  Are you affiliated with the seller?  Maybe your car was perfect but this one is not, it's that simple.

Our priority here is to tell it like it is, especially when someone comes along eager to buy and asks us to check it out before he or she dumps a bunch of money into this.  Sorry if you feel offended by us, but the priority stands.  Nobody wants to overpay and whoever buys this car at this price will do so.

No its not my car I think you guys take it to far. The car wasn't posted on here for sale it just seems some of you go looking for something to nit pick. Yes I do know the owner and most if not all the things were fixed. :shruggy:

Yes we do nitpick sometimes and we're even unreasonable sometimes, but we are still doing the right thing by showing those who do not know what to look for and in this case we are not really nitpicking.  The complaints about this car are valid, we're talking $48K here, that's not chump change.  Most of us have been around Chargers for a very long time and we have seen cars like this all too may times. If the owner has fixed what we saw wrong with it then maybe he should update the listing. He can ask whatever he wants, but at least let the car be a representation of that number, this is simply not the case here.  When I see rusty gauges that can be fixed for less than  $100 it makes me wonder what other corners were cut.  The mising exhaust is weird to say the least, but it's a bolt on part so either the seller installs an exhaust or adjusts his price, nothing wrong there. But to see accident damage and a really weird trunk floor makes the red flags go up.  Too many people have bought cars like this only to find out it need loads of work.

You may know the seller but that doesn't mean much to any of us.  We see a car with issues and a price tag for a mint car.

The seller is more than welcome to join us here and defend his position, but we see what we see and that's pretty hard to beat.

I'm sorry if you don't see it this way, but we have seen too many people overpay for these cars and I'm not one to let that happen again if I can help it.  No offense meant to you.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

A lot of the guys on this site can be a real pain in the ass when it comes to looking at Chargers and whatnot, but try looking at it this way:

Back in 1994, fresh out of high school, I was ready to buy my dream car, a 1968-70 Charger RT/SE.  Back then information wasn't readily available as it is now.  If you wanted to learn about something, you hoped to talk to the right people and hope for the best, but how many kids out of high school know what to look for in a classic muscle car?  Going to the library and watching Bullitt on late-night t.v. will only get you so far.  When I went looking for my dream car I had NO HELP OR KNOWLEDGE about these cars whatsoever.  When I finally put down my hard earned money for a "1969 Charger RT/SE" I was absolutely taken for a ride, but not for the one I wanted.  I've spent the last 20 years trying to turn my Charger into the car I thought I had bought, wasting thousands of dollars and years of my life as a consequence.

Fast forward to now, yeah there are a lot of Charger-snobs here, but if you're looking to put down your hard earned cash into a 40 year old car, this message board, for better or worse, will help you spend your money WISELY and get you the car that you deserve.  I wish I had the resources, information and this message board in 1994 when I was looking for my Charger...

Absolutely agree with the above - I wish I knew about this forum a year ago when I was making the "make (actually restore) vs buy" decision.  I was $250 away from buying a 68 matching numbers RT but the seller was a bit dishonest - wonder though if it was still a value...
or in 2000 when I bought my 67 Charger via eBay no less.  It was of course not quite as advertised and I had to haggle post auction.

Now if we can only have the internet fully complete the disintermediation of the classic car buying process....  It certainly has helped move us along in that direction.

In my short experience on here, Mytur Binsdirti posts like a slight douche, but is hilarious nevertheless.

Now in comparison, this car looks a hell of a lot cleaner for pretty much the same money.

Of course, the green interior & roof kill it for me, but it still looks pretty nice.

It's not the Hemi; it's the green interior & green roof.
