That is a sweet ride.  I like the red better than the natural stainless.

Man, the stainless finish IS that car.

A painted DeLorean is like a 6-cyl classic Charger.  I don't care how well the change might run/work, it just doesn't fit the essence of the thing.

I think it looks better red. Still wouldn't want it though.

I agree. I saw one painted black once, that was even cooler

When I'm done with school I'm buying one of those but it has to be stainless.  They can look real nice in color but it just has to be stainless for me.  I'd also have to drop the nose a bit, black out the tail lights, change the rims and oh yeah, drop a V8 in there.   :D

Or the one pictured
Always loved those cars but they have plenty issues so I'll be taking the whole thing apart and rebuilding it to my specs.  I'm thinking LS1 with a T-56 straight out of a Vette should do the trick.   :icon_smile_big:

It'll cost me more than the Charger but it'll be worth it.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If we're going 80's retro I'd rather drive Magnum PI's Ferrari 308; a better looker in red without a doubt...

Here's an ironic concept in paint finishes:

A silver-painted fiberglass DeLorean shell used in "Back to the Future II".  They hung it on piano wires for some of the takeoff & landing shots.  Opening doors, had a rough interior, working lights, wheels pivoted down flat, etc.

I wonder if the fiberglass building effort was worthwhile.  Most of the stock DeLorean's unibody is already fiberglass underneath that outer skin anyway.  And the prop-car still needed some frame structure to carry actors 10 feet off the ground, etc.

These days they probably could have done a stainless-steel-finish vinyl wrap on it.

Yesterday, here in Seattle, I saw a Delorean in full BTTF setup complete with Mr. Fusion on the freeway.  Nerds!   :nana:

a non-stainless finished usually means the car suffered damage and rather than pay for expensive stainless repairs, they bogged the @#@#$ out of it and put paint on it.
