I hate to say it, but stories like these are what got me to try Japanese vehicles.  There is a reason why Honda and Toyota are selling so many cars here. When you only have so much money to spend, you want to be sure you're not getting stuck with a lemon.  I have now owned 4 Japanese vehicles (3 SUVs, & 1 econobox sedan) and I have had almost no problems with them. I change the oil, the tires, and the brakes and just drive them. I have liked them so-much that when I replace them with a newer version, I usually end up selling to a friend's son or daughter or giving the old one to a relative so they can finally have a dependable vehicle.  I'm sure the Jap cars have some problems as well, but certainly not with the frequency of the domestic stuff.  Toys are one thing, safe, dependable and economic vehicles are another.

Buy American owned please.  People in Japan don't buy our stuff. Why should we buy theirs.  I lived in japan for a year and they are more patriotic to Japan, than most Americans about our products.

They take care of you with the many brake recalls??
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Not Ford. They ended up taking back my 2013 F250. 4 times back to the dealer for bad brakes. They had it for several months working on it. Still has bad brakes. Don't know what they did with it in the end.

Hey Paul, I am interested to know what they are telling you about your brakes and what the issue is that made you bring it in to begin with. I do know they are having issues with the electric vacuum pump on the eco-boost trucks and cars. That issue is no or hard brakes when first starting the car and more. Is this what's going on with yours??

Sorry to read all the problems. I had one car that fits the problems everyone had. 1986 Ford Tempo all wheel drive, off the show room floor it died. Junk, pure junk. Rear axles fell out at 12k miles. Kept quitting. Took it to Germany, same thing. I figured the Germans could fix it. No, they replaced everything Ford replaced to try and fix it. Pure JUNK. Sold it for 1k at only 2 years old. The German Ford dealership told me It's junk.

Reliable with never an issue:

1994 Geo Metro, 3 years and no issues.
1991 Dodge Dakota, 2.5 years and no issues.
1990 Volvo, bought new, 20 years and no issues.
2008 Suzuki Reno, 4 years and no issues.
2009 DTS, bought new, still have and no issues.
2002 S10, 4 cylinder, 8 years and no issues.
2014 RAV4, love it, no issues.
1974 Dodge Charger...............never mind.

The F250 would not stop straight. It would pull one way or the other during braking. At higher speeds it was worse. Towing a trailer and trying a panic stop the truck was literally in the left lane before it was stopped. Ford replaced the front pads and shoes 3 times, really, ABS unit, a brake line, swapped around springs, and finally jacked with the wheel alignment. Wheel alignment masked the problem at lower speeds. In the end I took our fleet manager for a ride towing a generator, that was the last time I drove the truck. It sat in the yard till Ford came and got it. Now I drive a Chevy 2500 HD for work.
1972 Charger Topper Special, 360ci, 46RH OD trans, 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gear, 14.93@92 mph.
1973 Charger Rallye, 4 speed, muscle rat. Whatever engine right now?

How bizarre..... I am betting it is the anti-lock brakes doing that. Did anyone ever try pulling the fuse for the anti-lock brakes and take it for a ride?   Everything else is the same stuff they have used for ages... I'm at about 106K on my 02' 250 SDSC and just today rotated and balanced and the ceramic pads I put on almost 60K ago are still in great shape and this truck comes to a halt very well loaded or not. Hmmmm...
